When you watch the film, a lot of the offensive playcalls were actually there, and the players (particularly the OL and WRs) just failed to do their job.
Hint: when you have consistently missed assignments by multiple positions on the field it’s not your players.

It’s you as the OC trying to shoehorn them into a scheme they can’t consistently execute.

That’s still at least partially the coaches fault because they’re ill prepared to do so

And it might be a bit too much to ask a backup center making his first start and playing against a potential All-American DT to block a significant amount of time because it’s a long developing pass play

Very mis-leading still-image. That’s snap #153 in the game (counting both teams) if you can find it.

The Safeties rotate to get an extra defender in the box and both (backup) CBs end up at 5 yards when the ball is actually snapped.

AU and DJ Durkin surrendered 311 rushing to UT and Texas allowed 7.6ypc for the game.

Bishop was leading the SEC in rushing and the nation in ypc.

Heupel’s system is to oversplit the WRs to isolate the box in order to run straight ahead between the tackles. Then he wants you give him 1-on-1 matchups on the perimeter in order to even out the numbers in the box to throw vertically.

Bama clearly sold out to stop those two things.

Not sure how any Defense giving up the 2nd fewest points, 2nd fewest yards and forcing the most turnovers on the SEC since 2024 is considered so terrible by the fans?

UT led the SEC in rushing 2 of the past 3 seasons and lead it again this season.

If they had rushed for 7.6 ypc like Texas allowed or 300+ like DJ Durkin allowed, then you guys would be ready to burn the man’s house down.

CNS allowed 37 and 43 in 2 of his final 3 games vs Heupel (24 in the other), and the most possessions they defended (while having elite talent defensively) was 10 on 2022.

If you were a UT fan, and you had the ball inside Bama’s 35 yard line on the first 3 possessions of the game off defensive turnovers and only could kick FGs, then scored 2 times the rest of the game on 10 additional possessions while also having 2 turnovers that led to Bama’s only points, would you seriously consider that a good day offensively?

Then how does he only allow 30 points just 5 times in 36 games and finish top10 nationally in scoring D, 2nd in the SEC in total D, and 2nd most forced turnovers in the nation since 2024.

All that without a ball control offense to say the least.

Bama is 24-1 when the offense had scored 21+ in a game.

They cannot hold top10 offenses to less than just 20 every week. Especially getting no help from the offense EVER.

Then they always contribute 3-10 points a game defensively off turnovers.

If Bama had a 2015 style offense, and he was still giving up 20 points in a game, and o my forcing 2.5 turnovers, then I would agree with you.

Tenner's defense gave up 14 to barn who just scored 27 vs uga on the road. Maybe Tenner's defense is good?? But Kirby is still elite because he gave up 27 to barn at home?? This. Is. fricking. Stupid.

Don’t forget than Bama has allowed less points, yards and 9 more turnovers than Georgia’s D since 2024, but Kirby is “the best defensive coach in the business” and CKW should be FIRED.

Allowing Georgia/UK/UT to average 19.6 points is UNACCEPTABLE and forcing 7 turnovers in those 3 games is NOT enough.

It doesn’t matter if they get 11-13 possessions or start inside Bama’s 37yd line 6 times in those 3 game, it’s simply NOT acceptable….

A great OC wrecked Bama

How is getting the ball 3 out of the first 4 possessions inside the 35 yd line and only settling for FG’s, being up 12-10 despite that disaster, allowing Bama’s defense to setup the offense twice inside the UT 31yd line, and scoring 2 TDs on 12 possessions “wrecking the Bama defense”?

Bishop was the SEC’s leading rusher and UT put 311 on the ground vs AU on just 9 possessions while Bama had to defend 7 possessions in the 1st half alone?

I gotta agree with you. They held up and did their job for most of the game but when the offense is as ineffective as ours was, then eventually the defense will get worn down, and that is what happened.

Truth is, if we had escaped this game we would be praising the defense. The offense not taking opportunities every time they had the ball and perfect set up to score absolutely hurt us.

It's his inability, or unwillingness to adjust to the in-game circumstance. Sometimes in a game, you need to hit the QB, and it's worth the risk to bring the house. Sometimes in a game, you need to sell out against the run because you can't let the opponent bleed 10 minutes on one drive.

Wommack's defense works great in the red zone, but sometimes I feel like we might as well just let them into the red zone on the first play of each drive so we quit wasting time. It seems like we're gonna get gashed all up and down the field anyway.

You're right. We have the perfect defense to compliment an offense that is lighting up the scoreboard.

The problem is when we absolutely NEED a stop, Wommack doesn't know how to adjust and go cover 0 or cover 1 and manage risk/reward.
Bend but dont break works great when you're ahead, but not when you're behind and you need the ball back asap.

I’m convinced you’re either Kane himself or his dad. No other explanation for your defense of his scheme that has failed the last two weeks when it mattered most. We were getting killed by short passes and screens in the second half Saturday and he did NOTHING to try to stop it. Maybe he doesn’t give up a ton of points, but his defenses also don’t get off the field consistently and they allow the opponent to consume big chunks of time, which you can’t allow when you’re playing from behind.

He needs to watch the film of Alabama playing Miami in the 1993 Sugar Bowl. Put people on the line of scrimmage and drop some back as needed. You cannot line up the same way all the time. Any good offensive coach will beat Alabama's defense right now. Tennessee looked like world beaters in the second half and are an underdog to South Carolina this week. Shows you what the odds makings think of Alabama.

Tenner looked like world beaters because BAMA couldn't stop going 3 and out.
