the team was not great that season despite the SEC and National Championship appearances.

That team produced a Heisman winner, won the SEC Championship in a rout, and was only beaten in the rematch due to losing top 2 WRs, 2 CBs, and our best DL before the 4th quarter. A game which we were still winning in the 4th. Get a grip.

We get it. You've chosen to see the glass as half empty instead of half full. But you're beating a dead horse to a dang pulp. Will you find joy if everything turns out as bad as you expect? Try some midol.

That’s a loaded question since very little has been presented from Ty Simpson.

If you want to ask if he can improve Milroe, then ask that question. I don’t think Rees was hired to develop Milroe.

Yes, Sarkisian was better than O’Brien, but the primary difference between the two seasons was not Sark vs O’Brien but the 20 talent vs the 21 talent.

Maybe most important: Very good OL vs bad OL
Smith, Waddle, Metchie vs Williams, Metchie, Bolden
N Harris vs hurt B Robinson
4 yr in system QB Mac vs 2 yr Bryce
OC in 3rd yr in system vs first year

Meant to say not that great in comparison to the 2020 season.

When the NFL scouts evaluated Mac Jones, they would say, Jones will never have as much talent around him in the nfl as he has had at Alabama. Everyone of our OC hires has been dumped on by posters on this board when hired including Sark, Kiffin, Daboll. Nothing new here.

It would have been like Sark covering for Pete.

Or perhaps like Lane covering for Pruitt against Arkansas and Ole Miss in 2016? As much as I'd like to see Pruitt hired, he gave up multiple 400+ passing yard/500+ total yard/30+ points allowed games in his two years as DC here at Bama...no DC is immune to that, especially in this era of offense...

Why is it when we have DCs we like, their bad performances are the offense's fault and with DC's we don't like, even when we win, it's always because the offense bailed them out?

What Nick Saban's coordinator hires mean for Alabama in 2023 (ESPN)

Some Bama fans have grumbled about the new leaders of the team's offense and defense. But suggest the Tide's leader has lost his fastball at your own risk.
