You're an idiot. If Damien thinks DeBoer hasn't coached Bama to the standard this season fine. That's his opinion. But to say his job is on the line with a loss in the playoffs is asinine.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that his job is on the line, but Harris definitely is correct in his opinion that we haven't played up to the standard set forth by Saban. Players have been calling this out since 2022.

I agree with that for sure. I don’t know that he will get fired. I am assuming things get a little weirder if he loses to an okie team with a bad offense for a third time in two years. Especially if Michigan hasn’t named their man yet. I could see that heat making him at least explore elsewhere. In terms of the standard, we certainly aren’t playing in a way that I would deem the standard, but I’m not sure there is a coach out there that will be to the “standard” Saban set. Maybe Cignetti; I like that guy a lot.

All these sticks and stones bitches crying every time someone questions this coaching staff is comical.. If anyone has the right to question what the frick is wrong with this program it is definitely Harris or Ingram as they have put in the work to play at an elite level and win a Chamionship. The standard was never going to be eternal and it’s time people understood and accepted that. It was a moment in time. Moments end.
That doesn’t mean we stop demanding excellence. But if we start tossing successful coaches over the side because they don’t replicate Saban’s standards, it’s going to ultimately destroy this program and more than anything we’re going to become radioactive to other coaches.

Kalen DeBoer is not playing for his job next Friday. It may make his arse hotter because heat will start being applied to his seat, but DeBoer will be coaching here in 2026. Dame has the right to his opinion, he can be at odds with the current program here, etc. However this is just shock jock bullshite. He needs to get a grip.

It is pretty standard behavior however - for great leaders to have a guy follow them who is never really allowed a chance to build his own legacy. Seldom do programs see two generational coaches back-to-back. Impatience comes with following greatness.

The problem I hate with Harris's comment is that it lacks context.
Yes you can claim that Alabama isn’t playing to the standard, but Saban NEVER played a schedule like we just played. And he darn sure never played a schedule like this with the transfer portal, NIL etc - things that are literally what caused him to retire. He retired before any of that really went into effect.
We HAVE to stop the “Fahr CKD” after every loss or bad game. It’s senseless and stupid.
Eventually we will get to a time and place where it is so obvious that CKD is either the man or he is not.
But right now we have a playoff game to win and Harris’s comments, while possibly accurate, are incredibly stupid timing.
