And I'm not talking about a one off like Blake Barnett vs. USC in 2016 or Cooper Bateman vs. Ole Miss in 2015. I'm talking about our primary starter for the season. Here are the stats to help refresh your memories:

2010
Greg McElroy
222-313 (70.9%) 2,987 yards 20 TDs 5 INTs

2011-2013
AJ McCarron
2011: 219-328 (66.8%) 2,634 yards 16 TDs 5 INTs
2012: 211-314 (67.2%) 2,933 yards 30 TDs 3 INTs
2013: 226-336 (67.3%) 3,063 yards 28 TDs 7 INTs

2014
Blake Sims
252-391 (64.5%) 3,487 yards 28 TDs 10 INTs

2015
Jacob Coker
263-393 (66.9%) 3,110 yards 21 TDs 8 INTs

2016-2017
Jalen Hurts
2016: 240-382 (62.8%) 2,780 yards 23 TDs 9 INTs
2017: 154-255 (60.4%) 2,081 yards 17 TDs 1 INTs

2018-Present
Tua Tagovailoa
2018: 245-355 (69.0%) 3,966 yards 43 TDs 6 INTs
2019: 180-252 (71.4%) 2,840 yards 33 TDs 3 INTs

Coker stringed together a bunch of stinkers during the regular season but ole boy came through when it mattered most.

If we compared them all at their peaks then I’d say Greg. He just didn’t have the ceiling as the rest of them but was more consistent.

All had their moments.
Greg has said his favorite college memory was the last drive of the 09 Iron Bowl.
All have had some head scratching games, too.
To me an interesting case is Blake Sims. He looked awful until the year he became the starter and looked pretty good

I won't opine about who may have been worst, but I'd note they were all pretty good qbs. McElroy was a lot better than the lack of credit he sometimes gets.

Cooper Bateman’s one start to make this easier.

Because QB play has been pretty damn good the last decade. Especially if you had to sit through 2000-2009.

but overall McElroy had a very good game. 27 of 37 for 377 yds, 2 td, 0 interceptions.

I still remember, though, when we about the 3 yard line, McElroy fumbles the ball and looking for it for what seems like a minute. 2 offensive linemen were oblivious to it, and the Auburn guy eventually runs around both of them and McElroy to recover the fumble.

So many opportunities to put that game away. That fumble in the shadow of the endzone, the Ingram fumble that bounced 25 yards or so right beside the sideline and out of the EZ, Richardson dropping the pass on the goal line, and he was a good receiver. Just bizarre.

As for qbs having a crappy game vs Auburn, that goes to Jalen in 2017. 12 of 22 for 112 yards and 14 total points.

Would have been Coker but he played maybe the 2 best games by our QB this decade in the playoffs.

2017 Jalen is the answer. He was terrible

Coker had a run towards the end of the season that moves him up my list personally. 2017 Jalen was tough to watch, I honestly think Jalen made Daboll look bad. I love Jalen but that season he should have been yanked during the Iron Bowl.

If I was the OC in 2013.

I would have done a fake field goal with AJ as the holder and toss the ball to Amari for a TD

Yea, I love him, but 2017 Jalen is clearly the worst QB year of the decade. 2016 Jalen isn't far behind, but he had wonderboy scheming things up for him.

And it is a shame, because the 2016 team should have won the national title. Put almost any of those other QBs on that team and they do. And that isn't Jalen's fault, it was just a shitty year to have the options we had at QB.

Jalen sophomore year. Still love the guy, but everyone had figured out he couldn't throw downfield and they schemed accordingly.

2 first downs in the 3rd quarter of the Clemson game was all we needed to win that game.

Or if Scarborough hadn't gotten hurt in the 2nd half.

Even Jalen freshman year had it’s issue. Yeah he was SEC OPOY but he threw 9 INTs and fumbled a ridiculous amount of times. Probably close to 20 combined INTs and fumbles. Then the SECC game onwards he was way too conservative.
