Donta Hightower

These are some other names I’d throw out

George Teague had the most “savage” play in the history of football. I’d also throw in the duo of Curry/Copeland. That whole 92’ defense was savage

McClain in recent times for sure. Just all-around.

Tommy Lewis honorable mention. None of these guys from today would run off the bench to make a tackle and prevent a touchdown.

I’ve never known anyone close to the program. But based on a few threads here and videos I’ve seen I believe Rolando McClain is the correct answer.

Youngsters no NOTHING about the older guys. Darwin Holt struck fear into EVERYONE, including his own team mates. He was instrumental in Georgia Tech leaving the SEC.
If you want to go back even further, you'll find that Dwight Deal (late 20's to early 30s) may have been the most "badass" player who ever played for The Tide. He came from a Tuscaloosa family who were ALL "animals" when it came to pugilistic brutality. He once beat a player from up North so badly that he left town the next night, and never came back.

In recent memory, Landon Dickerson. The type of guy you’d hate to play, but love having him on your team.
Another guy that doesn’t get enough mentions, Lane Bearden was tough as nails and all Bama. Dude would blow people up on punt returns, played hurt, and recovered his own onside kick vs Oklahoma.

Love that picture...cracks my arse up...but Rolando McClain told Tim Tebow, "God can't save you here" when he tackled him on their first possession of the 2009 SECCG.

Curry and Copeland......look at how many QBs they put out of games

I’m gonna go off the board for this one, but in some of our darker days (the early part of my fanhood), Lane Bearden the punter was a tough dude that would light some folks up. Kicked for a year on a torn ACL.

Reuben Foster was a heat seeking missile. I’ve never seen anyone hit like that and I’m in my mid 50s.
