I agree however our WR recruiting has picked up for the past 2 cycles. The 2021 and 2020 class has really bit us in the arse as far as our WR depth.

You think? You can make the argument we've recruited well if you look at the composite.

They just aren't on the team any longer and you can make the argument we haven't developed very well.

I don't know maybe the WRs we have recruited have had culture issues though?

That certainly seems to be the case since about since around 2018. Really haven't had an impact guy work out since the crew with Waddle, Smith, Jeudy, Ruggs etc.

Every other impact guy either didn't develop or was a headcase and never played up to their ability. Some big misses development wise at least in the last several WR classes.

Sucks that we have guys leaving at that position, but none of them really showed the potential to be a real WR1 yet. Bond was looking good, but had many games where he completely disappeared. Whether that was a QB issue or not is certainly worth debating.

Wide receiver recruitment shouldn’t be an issue going forward with the coaches that are being brought in to lead the offense. Washington literally had one of the top two best offenses in college football the past two seasons.

Jalen Hale showed flashes of being an impact player last season. Excited to see how he develops in this new system. Also excited to see what they do with Law.

Some folks are hypocritical of our new coach that just took his previous team to the CFP Title Game with lesser talent.

The current situation should be an easy sell to Ryan Williams if he actually listens to it.

We have an incoming staff that wants to throw it down the field (see Penix/Odunze).

We have a returning QB who's chief criticism is that he "can only throw bombs."

All 3 starting WR spots are open (Burton, Bond, Benson), and RW is a Jameson Williams clone.

It’s truly amazing he can’t be given a chance. I don’t get it. He literally told the team our goal is to win the championship. Perfect, that’s what we want too.

I'd say his stats picked up after Deboer and Grubb's arrival from his FR/So years.

Deonte Lawson, Malachi Moore, and Amari Jefferson are all over RWs page as he visits TAMU.

Leaders leading.

You left off Aeryn Hampton. He's listed as an ATH but with his size and speed he could be a dangerous slot WR.

His WR highlights looked explosive.

The problem is how many of those are a first or second WR? How many are slot guys?
Bond was our only true one WR with Burton playing the spot as a three.

Any decent coach should be able to work with that

Any of those guys good enough to be the first receiver?
There’s a reason they haven’t been so far.

I think that they are capable enough to be a formidable committee of WRs, and I certainly wouldn't count out anyone from rising to the top. They were all sophomores last season. A lot of diversity in skill sets.
