Urban Meyer had no proof that anything he was told by a third party was anything more than a rumor. I haven't seen any indication that he actually witnessed any abuse. That is the very definition of a rumor.

You keep trying to trivialize it by calling a victim’s statement a “rumor.” As if it’s office gossip on par with two coworkers making out in the break room. What you don’t seem to grasp is that it’s not up to Urban Meyer to prove anything. That’s not supposed to be his role here.

Keep digging that hole. You’re making as much sense now as you did when you were white knighting for Roy Moore.

Well you are correct about something. I'm still making sense while you're appealing to emotional rhetoric.

You are also correct that it is not up to Urban Meyer to prove anything, which is why he can't fire or accuse someone of a crime he has no knowledge of actually happening. You're full of crap if you think what you're saying is something he has any legal right to do.

You do not have the right to spread unsubstantiated statements (since you want to play the semantics game) about people to your boss. In fact, you can be held liable if spreading such statements ends up harming the other person professionally. You are making a grave error by claiming otherwise. It is absolutely not in your best interest to view things this way.

You don’t even have your hands around the basic facts of the situation.

LOL. Just stop. He had an obligation under Title IX to report it up the chain of command. The OSU policy states that he has to that do that whenever he’s been made aware that there’s a reasonable allegation of sexual/domestic misconduct. Either he did that or he didn’t. That’s what this entire ordeal is about. Zach Smith had a history of assaulting his wife. Urban was aware of that. Courtney Smith straight up texted Shelley Meyer what was going on and that she wanted help. It’s not unreasonable to believe that Shelley Meyer revealed that info to Urban. Given the entire context of this situation, he had an absolute obligation to report what he knew so the proper people could sort it out. Quit this “you could be held liable” argument because it holds no water here. Meyer didn’t have to accuse anyone.

What blows me away is how lost all this is on you. You’re being willfully ignorant.

I would also add that Meyer had a relationship with Smith going back to when Smith played for Urban at Bowling Green. Smith followed him to UF where he got two felony charges in 2009 for aggravated assault against his then pregnant wife as well has as menacing and stalking charges.

Urban takes the OSU job in 2011 and Smith follows him there. Fast forward to 2015 he gets hits with more domestic violence charges and stalking. Again, no action was taken by Meyer. In 2018, he apparently abused her again as the wife sent texts of her bloodied and bruised self to Shelley Meyer as well as other wives on the coaching staff. Smith gets popped again for violating his restraining order and OSU has to find out about it. Meyer goes to Big10 media day and gets caught lying through his teeth about his knowledge of the 2015 and circumstances re: the 2018 events that happened on his watch.....oh and I also believe Smith got a DUI during this time as well.

Meyers contract as an official of a public university he has a duty of care to the student body and his contract is is very clear re: his responsibility to report any sexual/domestic violence. This happened by a member of his staff, that he hired, that he knew for 20 years, that he had had a history of violence towards women, that apparently the wives of the coaching staff knew was being abused, and was caught red handed lying publicly about it.

Very interesting. Urban has been called onto the carpet by the Board at TOSU. Speculation is they want him to explain something.
