suggest folks go read the Spurrier comments. Coaches and team completely overlooked Pavia and that offense. Kid beat Auburn 31-10 and rolled up 450 yards of offense when he was playing for NM State.

We haven't stopped the run all year, pass rush is rare, this wasn't a case of overlooking Vandy,.

And they were lauding Bama after beating Georgia.

We are not great, granted, but we are giving up 3.31 yds/rush , ~120 yards a game. I'd call it average. We are the 54th ranked rushing D and UGA is 55th(tied with Tulane). Plenty of room to improve of course. We were undisciplined and lazy and got our azz handed to us. I don't for one second believe we are terrible. It's what the staff and team do with the result that matters. This being a new staff we have no basis to judge so let's just lose our minds.

Just win. This could be 2014-15 type season when they lost to Ole Miss and then won some close games the rest of the year, but players cared more back then and weren’t prima donnas.

The rush defense this past Sat was actually a bit better (at least after the first drive).

So far this season, allowing 2.8 yards per carry would put you at #8 in the country in yards allowed per carry.

The one thing I'll be watching for is whether we make IN-GAME ADJUSTMENTS.

The coaches have shown they can dominate with a scripted game plan (see 1st half against UGA), but in-game adjustments (at least on defense) have been underwhelming to say the least.

So, I think what will help me regain trust is to see a dominant SECOND half.

Want to see our offense actually sustain a drive to put a game away.

If we win soundly, I'll trust us to handle business against LSU and Tennessee but would trust the Mizzou and Mercer games as much as I trust a post-all you can eat Chinese buffet fart.

300 yards or less and 13 points.

I trust the staff. I believe DeBoer is a winner. I think losing to Vandy isn't the 1st time in his career he's been challenged. I can't wait to see how he and the team respond.

IDGAF about anything but winning. Just find a way to win. Be it South Carolina or tenner, or anyone else.

I give zero fricks about how many yards they get or how many points they score. Just win, baby.

Some of you seem to be OK with losing as long as it's to an opponent you deem worthy, and I believe some of you would rather lose 10-9 than win 46-45.
So long as the defense holds the opponent to a respectable amount of yardage in the loss. That's fricking stupid to me.

Massacre South Carolina. Win like 48-7. I want to see maximum effort on defense. Flying to the ball, good tackling and force a turnover or two.

Even then I don’t know that this team/staff will have gained my trust back, at least not fully.

I was at that game. Bama started the wrong QB (for whatever reason you want to believe) and had 5 turnovers. That was a flukey game. The Vandy game was not a fluke. They got their asses kicked. By Vandy.

A team that looks well-prepared and focused. That's what I want to see. A defense that attacks and actually makes tackles.

You make good points. Can’t disagree with any of it. Can this team come out motivated against teams that aren’t in top 10? The only games they’ve looked motivated in are the WKU game (easy to be excited for the first game of a new season), the Wisconsin game (big OOC road game) and the Georgia game.

I was at the ‘15 Ole Miss game and the recent Vandy game. The point is Bama lost to an opponent it outmatched. Turnovers cost us Ws as much as lackluster defensive play. The ‘15 defense was probably top 5 all time and still finished the game with a similar score to that of the Vandy game.

Why do people call a one score loss an arse-kicking? It's been happening for years. I feel like it started with the Ohio State loss in 2014. We lost by a touchdown but I kept hearing people say Ohio State kicked our arse. I don't get it.

Yet, we beat a team that hasn't lost a home game since 2020 by a touchdown and "the decline is real".

If they didn't let sc cross the 50 yard line.
