Once the script dried up, the offense went back to boom or bust, and we couldn't get a first down. Damn near blew a 30 point lead. I gave Milroe his due in the first, and then I realized he was still the same guy in the second half.

It’s simple. They said no more Milroe run, our OC didn’t properly Coach Milroe to hand it off. I can remember 3 times if the ball goes to Jam. He goes for a long way. But it’s a learning point. We got the W.

This is not correct. Our OC didn’t make an adjustment away from QB run and keep. It should have been handoffs and working the middle.

I totally agree.
Milroe lived that Script for two weeks. You could see he was beaming with confidence running those plays. He looked like a different QB completely.
I was completely blown away at the crispness of his footwork, the ball coming out so much faster than we've ever seen from him, an uptick in his decision making at the mesh, and the authority he was running with. He literally looked like the best QB in the country during those first four possessions. Delivering the ball to all levels of the field, and hitting all the playmakers from RB's to WRs to the TEs... it was beautiful.
Then the script dried up and you could see the doubt, the delay, the uncertainty. I mean we couldn't get a first down to save our lives, and nearly blew a 30 point lead. You cant dance around and talk about how amazing he was to start the game without also taking into consideration the offense completely collapsed in the second half.
Maybe Milroe grows from this... he's clearly the man so we go as he goes. Pulling for him, but since I'm not some cult level sunshine pumper I have to be just as concerned about the poor play as I am excited about the good play.

What I think I saw...
I am not going to go back and do an involvedfilm breakdown. I just want to enjoy the win.
Alabama Defense - early game they played high risk / high reward. Lots of pressure up front and UGA/Beck could not handle it. Later in the game the D backed off on the pressure and gave Beck time to make reads and throw tight passes. Late in the game the D went prevent which almost prevented them from winning.
Alabama Offense - the UGA D game plan early totally backfied. UGA killed the Alabama interior run game. However, in doing so they left the edges open to be exploited and Alabama did. The UGA pass D played to limit the deep ball and invited Milroe to throw short. Milroe was ready and had a fantastic day in the first half with what was far and away his best short (wide) passing game of his career.
Late in the 1st half UGA started going back to their more traditional coverage (with two exceptions) and put a cork in the in the wide short passing game. 2nd half, UGA came out with the safeties tilted to their right and turning up the pressure at the LoS. They shifted pressure from the middle toward the edges and took away the edge run game.. They appeared to go to a back end game of zone to the strong side and man on the backside. The way they played it took away the short/wide passing by shifting interior coverage toward the edges. This opened some passing windows toward the intermediate middle of the field. Milroe and the TE's to a little advantage of the shift.
These adjustments should have opened the zone read counters but Alabama did not take advantage of them. Instead they kept trying to run to the edge which was no longer open.
Fabulous game planning and execution the first 20 minutes what replace by spotty play calling and less exceptional execution in the middle 10 minutes. The late 25 minutes Alabama was playing low risk / low reward on both sides of the ball.
UGA lead in the game for 13 seconds and Alabama cranked the risk/reward on offense back up for one more play and took the game back.
Alabama never adjusted to UGA moving back to their more traditional D sets and that almost cost them.

offense wasn’t a problem last night,
How can you say this? Did you not watch the 3rd quarter and the first 12 minutes of the 4th quarter?
The reason the defense collapsed is because they were on the field the entire 2nd half.
Offense needed to save the defense in the 2nd half and didn't until Hollywood put on a show for the ages on one play.

Agree 110% They like to pump the sunshine and if you don't they think you are a troll.

To be fair, part of the reason why they were on the field the entire 2nd half is because they couldn't get a stop on 4th down to save their lives
Plus, a couple missed opportunities for INTs.

handoffs and working the middle.
I agree if you mean working the middle of the field passing.
Handoffs up the middle on uga is a fool's errand.

Most of this board is too simple to understand this. I'm not sure when it happened, but at some point this place turned into a sunshine echo chamber.
They are all hooting and dancing and shooting their pistoles into the sky after witnessing nearly the biggest meltdown collapse since the 2010 Iron Bowl

They did real good on 3rd down.

Thank you. Some love to have the sunshine pumped all the time and criticize those that do not and are more realistic.

Why script only 4 drives? Why not 8?
Also, Who else in the SEC is even capable of doing what uga did in the 2nd half? Texas perhaps? You think if BAMA is up on LSU 30-7 at halftime the Tigers will come roaring back like uga? Will Tenner?
5-5 on 4th down is not only a statistical anomaly it's very likely you'll never see it again in any game this decade.

Yes, and were contested by the D. They weren’t easy conversions. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to great plays by them.

What were your expectations for the offense last night offensively? How many points did you expect we would end with?
The data models expected us to score less than 20 points against them.
Vegas had the over under at 49 which means given the line they thought we’d score about 24.
We put up almost exactly what we were supposed to in the second half given who were playing, and considering we had a fluke red zone turnover and a drive killed by a missed call it’s exactly where I’d expected to be offensively.
They hadn’t given up 30 points since 2022 so I think what we have here is a difference in what you expected to see vs what I did and you are thinking the second half was the anomaly whereas I think the first half was basically a manufactured offensive explosion by DeBoer via scheme. Kirby said as much at halftime, they had no idea what the hell we were doing and needed halftime to figure it out.
Again, they hadn’t allowed a TD all season. They’re really, really good on defense.
My concern is with the back end of the secondary, not the offense which I expect when the data is processed will be a top 3 FEI offense in the country.
Lane just put up 17 against Kentucky.
Sark struggled to get 35 against State.
I’m just not that worried that UGA confused us for a half when the end result was 41 points and 531 yards on the board.

Georgia has no big time downfield weapons, and they are one of the worst third down teams in the country this year. Not sure what your point is. Georgia is not considered an elite or explosive offense this year. They are very much a blue collar bunch that moves the sticks. First downs are very important for many reasons folks.

They dont have to make a stop on fourth down if they are drinking water on the sideline watching the offense eat clock.

Ah yes, let's blame Milroe for the defense's inability to stop UGA from getting first downs.
I'm not going to continue to engage with you because it's pointless. You've had a hate-boner for Milroe for years and nothing will change that.
Does Milroe have things he needs to do better? Yes, I don't think anyone is trying to argue that he's perfect. However, he's also (probably) the least of my concerns with this team at this point.
