Update - Puppy got into chocolate in my son's room. Puking everywhere. Rush to the vet?

We got one, a female, in February and she has been an absolute pleasure to own so far. She's our first one and I'm honestly contemplating only raising this breed from now on.

We installed a dog door a few weeks ago and she learned to use it much faster than our other two dogs despite one of them having used one before.

She doesn't bark, chew, dig, etc.

Is that typical of the breed?

ETA: If we had a complaint it would be she is freaking ravenous during feeding time. She gets her food last and she is done within seconds.

Hell no.

I have a 7 year old male. He barks at everything. Not a chewer and doesn’t dig in the yard though.

Mine devours the food bowl too. Can always expect a loud belch afterwards.

Still a great little dog.

How much does he weigh?

The people we got her from said she would end up between 6 and 9 pounds. I've watched numerous YouTube videos of them growing from puppies to adults and she looks to be a lot smaller than most.

We've had her for 2 months and she is nowhere near as thick as the others. Granted, she runs about 5 miles a day playing with our 2 year old Havanese-Maltipoo so she is burning a ton of energy every day.

She is basically wiped out at 7 PM every night.

I’ve decided all dogs are different regardless of breeds, you can get a mellow easy going Yorkie and the next is mean and hard headed. Dogs are like people with their own personalities, not like cats, all cats are weird.

We had a female for 15 years. She was the best dog ever. She never barked and dealt with our goofy turd of a lab for years in our house.

Nearly killed the AT&T guy that left our gate open. She got out and was hit by a car. 5 minutes after I let her out. She came through it with a dislocated hip, she was back to normal within a week or so, and she hung around with us for 8 more years.

We had to put her down 2 years ago. The only reason we didn’t get another one is because we felt like we couldn’t replace her with another dog that looked like her. That was the worst.

Damn. That sucks.

We've tentatively decided to breed her assuming we can find a stud who is on the smaller side like her.

We got lucky and "only" paid $600 for her. I've seen others go for $2500 in our area.

A buddy of mine breeds Frenchies in Vegas and sells his puppies for $4000 a pop.

He told me last week they have some fancy ones in his area that are fluffy and go for $40,000 a piece. Crazy.

Any dog under 50 pounds is a cat and cats are pointless.

Yea, we've owned 3 females. Great dogs. Fiercely protective but each of them are/were barkers. Chewed some things like normal puppies but nothing really after puppy phase. And super smart for dogs.

And what a beautiful pup!

Had a schnauzer and it is the perfect size dogs for kids. Great temperament with kids, but did find she was a bit too protective and growled at my daughters friends quite often. But she never but anyone and never minded being tugged at and ears yanked, etc. like small kids are apt to do.

The only negative was that ours wouid eat anything in sight - that included rabbits, printer ink cartridges, and she lived for spaghetti- so we had to watch her very closely. She also had gut issues, so we had to feed her fancy dog food after she had to be hospitalized twice with excessive vomiting. They said it was common in schnauzers but I don’t know how true that is or not.

Seeing yours makes me miss mine!

Got lucky with my Frenchies, paid $1000 for one and $1800 for the other . Best personality dogs I have ever owned . Probably won’t ever have another breed. There is a lady who breeds here in Ms and her pups go for 2500-3000. I can’t go any higher than that . When something happens to our oldest one I will probably have to put wife in hospital , we love that dog so much

They do eat everything in sight. I have to watch mine and he’s still a little chunky. We have a beagle too. And my schnauzer will steal from him given the chance.

We’ve always exercised him a lot too. Burns the energy off. Walking every day. And hiking on the weekend.

My aunt and uncle had one. It was a great dog, but it definitely barked if someone unfamiliar came into his presence.
