LOL! There are a lot of folks that have jumped on the UCF bandwagon. I've asked those I've met if they would bet their own money on UCF heads up against any of the playoff teams. Only one in about 7 said he would, against all but BAMA. Hmmmmmmmm...

UFC that game was everything, and Auburn losing to UGA with all on the line probably had some affect on them for that game.

Now this.......this is where they get laughable. Just saying "We went undefeated and beat the team who beat both National Title game participants" would be enough to give yourself a little trophy.
This, though, this is laughable.
"UCLA found out Memphis is pretty Good". LOL, UCLA went 6-7. Sounds good, can we now tout all our wins over 6-7 win P5 teams? No? Then shutup.
"A really good South Florida team". South Florida, whose biggest win was against 6-7 Texas Tech
"Navy had won 17 straight home games — the nation’s longest home winning streak." Navy went 7-6. 7-6.
You don't get to claim to be the best of the big boys and then use wins over 7-6 teams "because they are Power 5 teams" as proof that you are pretty good. You are asking to be seated at the big table, and nobody at the big table gets credit for wins over teams that barely make bowl games.
That is the shite that does make me mad. Don't give me this intellectually dishonest nonsense. Either brag about beating "a P5 team" or choose to present yourself as a P5 team. If you do the latter you don't get to brag about beating 6-7 UCLA, 7-6 Navy or 7-6 Texas Tech. Ever.

Let them have their fun. They are a very good G5 team and went undefeated, hard to do at any level. What does it matter? Nobody will recognize them but themselves. Good for them, enjoy the rewards of a good season. Meanwhile, the big boys are going to play for the real title Monday.

No one CARES about UCF but it's fun to talk about because it's fricking stupid. I'd imagine it's the same reason people like to talk about what we claim.
They also said no one cares about UCF and that the Playoff system isn't built properly and that the BCS system was much better. This AD is just spouting bullshite he heard on Danny Kannel & SVP's Sportscenter after the playoff games.
Their AD said:

The BCS era was much more accurate for how teams were ranked, more objective, and I don't think the playoff is adequate to determine a true national champion. You can't subjectively pick only four teams. Bitching about the playoff model saying BCS is a better model (which why would you bring it up in an argument if it doesn't help your cause because it would have left their arse WAY out of the championship game) and wants a 8 team playoff. I'm sure the other top two teams wish they had a 10 team playoff too.

If a G5 team wants a chance to make the CFP final 4 they should schedule 3 games against good (typically ranked) P5 teams. Otherwise go sit down at the kids table and shut up.

I fully support UCF claiming the National Title if the AP Poll votes them #1, thus giving them a legitimate claim. Throughout the history of CFB, we've claimed split titles as has other programs. Even if we win it won't suddenly make us any less the champs, it just allows UCF to also have a claim. I kinda wanna buy a UCF National Championship shirt just to give them support.

Everyone agrees the 1941 claim is retarded, but let's face it, there is a BIG difference between iffy made up claims from the old days vs. modern days.
After the 60's/70's the AP and Coaches poll became the only national championship selectors that actually mattered.
The 90's brought us 'official' national championship games as well and as time has gone, they've gotten even more 'official'

People care about UCF for the same reason people care about The Room, probably the worst film ever made. Because it's funny. Like The Room, UCF is 100% serious, 100% deadpan, and... It's ridiculous. They beat numerous mediocre teams, won one good team, and they're having a Parade. I mean, c'mon.

They beat the team that beat us. I don't think we have much room to criticize here. A bit petty, IMO.
