Do y’all find it interesting that even though basketball season has been over for us for 2 weeks, this thread has surpassed both football threads in both posts and pages?

Tell me we don’t care about basketball.

Let's never forget that Jay Barker was more concerned with kissing Avery's arse than he was the basketball program. What a damn idiot

Rockiee, Marshall is playing y’all. Kick him to the curb.

I trust our AD, but I have already talked about his past during coaching searches. We might be able to offer more than he has ever received though. His 3.5M is really high for a school like that.

Musselman, I think you’re rolling the dice there.

I think he is solid, has some concerns regarding roster management but is a great teacher and coach.

Sounds to me like Sampson and your AD are playing poker and both are trying to bluff the other.

I doubt it, they are good friends. I think there are two likely things 1. A lot of this is smoke and Hunter is doing his friend a solid in the process by getting him a better contract. 2. There is a hang up over his son. Sampson wants him to be labeled Coach in waiting, don't think we would be up for that.

I haven't checked the new recruiting or spring practice thread since they have been started. I use to check them every hour since 08. I only check this one now. I know football is in good hands

I love it. I definitely read the basketball threads more than any others. The buzz around Oats has been awesome. I'm in a groupme of about 50 guys I went to bama with and its been non stop basketball talk over the past week.

Bryant Denny usually draws a big crowd for A Day.
Can you imagine this year the draw for an open to fans summer basketball scrimmage, especially with Kira & Trendon on the floor?

I see no reason to really keep up with Bama fooball in the offseason anymore for the last several years. We're so damn amazing almost every year. I'll watch the spring game but that's about it. We're just already there in football.

Trying to keep up with the basketball program in hopes of something special being built here is just much more interesting.

This will never not make me laugh.

Like the rallying speech of a shitty little league coach.

I'm way more excited about basketball season than football this year. It would be great to finally have a decent team again - or at least one trending that direction. I'll catch up with football in the fall, but I can't wait to see CNO's first team.

That’s right, Jay. And Avery finished with a career .250 mark over the final 5 games of the regular season. And every season we were fighting to get off the Bubble, so every win (and loss) was crucial. Nuff said!!

Thank God, Greg was prepared and got Oats w/n a week. Watching Arkansas and UCLA still looking for a hc is giving me post-traumatic stress. UCLA must have Battle as their AD.

How awesome would it be if Arkansas hired Avery. Be a guaranteed win every year.

Yep. Whether the coaching sucked or not, they still gave up at the end of the year. Coaches shouldn't have to do all the motivating and providing incentives to play hard. You should already be doing that as a D1 athlete. Hopefully the bad attitudes/team cancer started and ended with Dazon and with him gone plus a new staff with a different mindset, a ton of areas improve.

Exactly

Go back and read the thread during games and these same people were insulting these players... but now the players were the victims.

These guys act schizophrenic.

If they struggle with Oats it will be back to insulting the players.

Everyone shared blame. These guys are all hot takes.

You're damn straight I insulted them. I'm willing to give them the benefit of a fresh start now, especially hearing about practices and not being developed and wanting to have a relationship with their coach. If they continue to make the same mistakes, even with a new and better coach, then your damn right again, I'll insult them.

For my excitement and hopes, I just chose to start with a blank slate. You don't have to do it that way and that's fine

You've never brought anything to this board other than personal attacks. Maybe you'd be happier someplace else? Your boyfriend is at OU now. Maybe they need a fan who doesn't know what he's talking about, but loves to insult other fans anyway?

Woof. The Oats hire is looking better and better.
