Alabama’s Nate Oats and Xavier’s Travis Steele will virtually meet with Top-50 junior Wesley Cardet Jr. today, he told @Stockrisers. The Tide’s second zoom call in as many weeks.

Do not like his brother conspiring with Ernie Kuyper (Mike Miller's BFF) to get him on a Memphis based AAU team that Mike Miller used to run and will likely become heavily involved in again now that he is no longer on the Memphis staff.

On 247 Alabama is listed as Warm interest from Cardet while all the other schools are listed as cool. Would love to have him.

Yeah, the Davison recruitment seems like it’s going to be a roller coaster.

It's funny that the sweet spot for recruiting is (a) late risers or (b) really good players who aren't QUITE in the elite 1-and-done level and therefore not recruited by the blue bloods (and avoiding the Pro route at this point).
Think about the guys we had great relationships with early that then kind of faded
- Daishen Nix (UCLA, pro)
- Isaiah Jackson (Kentucky)
- Nimari Burnett (though TT isnt' exactly a power)
- Charles Bediako (we know how that will end)
JD Davison is definitely in that same group, the only possible saving grace is he's an in-state kid. But still, tough to win those battles.
Then think about our biggest wins
- Josh Primo (late riser, reclass)
- Alex Tchikou (late reclass)

Davison isn't being recruited by any blue bloods besides Kansas though. Hell, I'd rather see Kentucky and UNC on his list than Memphis and LSU. No one wants to hear it, but his top 10 just screams player being shopped. If he had Arizona on there he could go ahead and play Sanctions Bingo.

Yup, been preaching sweet spot for awhile now b/c it's realistic for Bama. I advocated expanding recruiting internationally, targeting top 50-100 players and only go after five star if they're an instate kid or close to it. Of course five radius of Tuscaloosa for four stars as well. Hit juco and transfer market is automatic.

Mike Miller isn’t pushing JD to go to Memphis. He’s pushing him towards the GLeague. That’s where I think he ultimately ends up.

After he plays for Bama, right? :/

If he goes to college, it’ll be Bama I think. LSU and Auburn has a good chance too.

Primo was a reclass too wasn’t he?

Is that a gut feeling? or is it based off anything?

On Wednesday, Cardet Jr. completed two virtual visits. He started it off with Alabama’s Nate Oats and Bryan Hodgson. The Tide has completed several calls over the past few weeks and has made him an instant priority. Over the past few months, they’ve been impressive on the recruiting trail.

Just knowing JD’s situation and those in his ear about the G League
