Four stars need love too! Hell, Some of our best players were no stars like Erwin Dudley and Antoine Pettway. Oats had the rep of going after the big timers at Buffalo but sometimes you gotta be realistic. Five hour radius for five stars and fours everywhere. Give three stars from Indiana, New York, and Indiana a strong look.

Dudley was a top 100 recruit.

He wasn’t from the Midwest though so he was practically a 0 star that had to be coached up.

My Midwest fetish pertains mainly to coaches. Your comment reminds me of why Isaac Haas chose Purdue, though.

Evan Daniels talking Isaiah Jackson is gone from the world. It didn't record and it's never coming back but here's the gist of what he said on KRC:

It's down to Alabama/UK. Alabama has been recruiting Jackson "more aggressively" but Kentucky is Kentucky.

He did say Cal needs bigs in 2020 so it was clear that Jackson was a priority for UK & mistakenly said the only "priority", but moments later remembered Greg Brown is also a major target

He didn't make a prediction for Jackson and seemed to indicate it's a tossup between UK/Bama

It’s weird that IJ is down to three schools and announces on Saturday, yet his CB selection is still highest for a team not in his final theee.

Also weird that Ambrose-Hylton is announcing on Sunday and still doesn’t have a single CB prediction.

Getting both of them would put us at the #25 recruiting class.

5th in the SEC.

Looks like the Memphis compliance department has finally stood up against Penny. What a bunch of idiots. He is going to get them in deep crap if he keeps that attitude.

I mean, what's the NCAA going to do about it? That's why I said the other day that this Wiseman deal could end up being a huge problem for them. Penny has basically taken that program rogue and is daring the NCAA to do something about it, because based on recent history nothing serious will actually happen. I mean tor frick's sake, Sean Miller, Bill Self, and Will Wade are ALL still coaching right now. Schools are not afraid of them anymore. Otherwise all of those guys would be working for a pro team or unemployed right now. If Louisville could do it all over again I doubt they'd fire Pitino given the current environment.

It’s always great when a recruit likes your team for some made up nonsense reason.

I guess he’s talking about Herb? A guy who has never really been a 1 or a 4?

To be fair, the rest of it does sound like us. So far we are shooting a lot of 3s.

I’m sure he’s referring to Oats’ development of players at Buffalo as much or more than he is Bama players after two games.

Yeah fair enough - I was thinking more in the context of Alabama, and he may well have been talking about Buffalo.

Even there I don’t think that’s what they really were known for (more like playing four perimeter guys), but I could be wrong and who cares anyway if it helps us.

Apparently 5* Devin Askew just reclassified to class of 2020 for Kentucky... Different position than Isaiah Jackson but it could possibly affect his decision if there isn't enough room in their class now?

ETA: I'm just speculating. He very well could still be a take for them, but my first thought was this is good for Alabama. Askew is the 5th commit for the 2020 UK class.
