Full SEC preview from @TheAndyKatz!
He’s putting an absurd amount of faith in Rick Barnes. They lost their far and away 3 best players and 56.2 PPG from their regular rotation. They added one borderline 5-star who plays guard (same position as the only 2 remaining players that did anything of note last year). The rest of their additions are 3-stars and outside the top 150. I understand having respect for a team that had a great season last year, but this may be worse than when Frank Martin lost all of his talent after their Final Four run. And we all saw how that played out. Having them as a guaranteed tournament team is a tad ridiculous. I’d love to see his reasoning behind it.

I was pretty confident about making the tourney before the Rojas injury. Still hopeful but in wait and see mode. I think the effort, pace, and organization will be much better. I think we will score a ton of points and be fun to watch. Just worried we won’t be very good defensively and will get killed on the glass.

Could end up with 3 5* in 2020 class

Alabama just extended an offer to five-star junior Manny Obaseki, a source told @Stockrisers.

And yes, he could reclassify to 2020 and still be an Alabama target, i’m told. He’s thinking about possibly reclassifying, not sure when he’ll decide but keep an eye out for it.

Defense is 90% effort. I think we’ll be ok defensively just because the effort will be better. That won’t be the end of the court to just take a break. I do worry about getting killed on the glass in the SEC. We had better be running box out drills till they puke. Can’t wait to see the transformation.

We’ll sell out all games if that happens.

It's just an offer. Unless the implication was that we are the only program recruiting him for the 2020 class.

"We had better be running box out drills till they puke."
Boxing out isn't what it used to be. Rules these days don't allow what used to be a good box out. Reaction time and quickness to the ball are almost as important in today's game as having a 7 footer. With so many 3s being shot now, there's many more long rebounds than there used to be. The ability to get to those are what will be the difference in many games between being outrebounded and being the one with the rebounding numbers.

What is with you and the Midwest? Where someone is from hardly relates to their success in coaching.
I disagree. It's a key indicator I would use if I need to make a hire. Sure, an Oregon or Texas may produce a legit rock star but your best bet is someone from Midwest or Northeast.

Also, Nimari Burnett is now in Tuscaloosa. If any of y’all see him tommorow or at the Game Saturday please, go out of your way to be ultra nice to him.
