As long as Auburn isn’t involved I’m ok with losing him. I’d love to have him but I doubt it happens. If he goes out of state, oh well. If he went to Auburn I think it sends the wrong message about the basketball hierarchy in the state.

More from Adam Zagoria:

quote:

Trendon Watford remains uncommitted but hopes to make a decision by May 15, the end of the NCAA late signing period, his father told ZAGSBLOG Tuesday.

“I think we’re going to try to get it done by then,” Ernest Watford said Tuesday by phone.

quote:

“I think we’re just sorting of waiting to see how the rosters shake out,” Ernest said.

“I think that’s what my oldest son [Christian Watford] is sort of into that. What’s the roster fit?

“LSU got guys in the [NBA] Draft], Memphis got guys that they’re out [recruiting] on. We’re trying to feel good on a set roster going in.”
Memphis remains in the mix for numerous uncommitted players, including Watford, Precious Achiuwa, Lester Quinones and R.J. Hampton. The 6-5 Quinones is down to Indiana and Memphis and will announce Friday.

“I’m sure they’re trying to see what fits Lester the best, and we’re trying to see what fits Trendon moving forward the best,” Ernest said.

He added: “You got uncertainty on every roster. Alabama’s roster is pretty set, and Indiana is still out on a few guys that they’re trying to get.”

“We’ve got some good feedback from these last two all-star games, we want to ride the momentum. We want to make sure we don’t derail it or kill it.”

Yeah he gone.

It was the deal reported. Wade is obviously a cheating mofo, but if he paid $300K for Naz Reid he's a dumb, cheating mofo

Matt norlander and Parrish talked about this on their latest podcast. It appears that most programs do monthly installment payments with a lump sum kind of thing at the start. Word from pretty much everyone involved in the dirty side of College Bball is that Wade is all about lump sum, one time payments. Basically he knows the amount a booster or outside party is willing to pay and then communicates that to the player and the actual money transfer stuff never comes anywhere near him.

It was the deal Wade had for Naz Reid in the FBI trial. I have no doubt schools are paying money, I highly doubt there are many paying 300k for kids outside of the top 5.

Think of it this way. If Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky are all offering a top 5-10 recruit a signing bonus in excess of a quarter million dollars, why would that kid take the same amount of money to go to LSU? On the other hand, if LSU is offering huge money like that to top 15-25 type kids why would they go elsewhere for less money? Let the blue bloods take those top 10 players. Meanwhile, Wade signs a bunch of top 30 players and makes LSU nationally relevant. It's actually a pretty clever strategy even if it's not the most efficient way of doing business.

Trendon is a good player but I dont think he is a program changer like some Bama fans claim. I dont think he makes our team marginally better.

I agree.but i think his style could make us a lot better. He could start from day one at the four and be a mismatch on the offensive end.

It all sounds so promising, having Kira in this system with a year with real S&C is gonna be a treat.

Sowell is good on everything except for foreign policy. But I think he sold out in that area so he could get published in the major newspapers.

Definitely an A. Nate Oats walked into the job at Alabama facing some scrutiny thanks to his relative inexperience as a Div. I head coach and minimal connections in the deep south. While he has been on the job for just over a month, he has built a foundation that must be respected.

First, bringing back John Petty and Kira Lewis was a major win for the Tide. Adding to that duo with the commitments of grad-transfer Beetle Bolden and three-star center Raymond Hawkins, and also keeping intact the entire 2019 class that the former staff had put together, is a major win.

If Oats can go a step further in landing either R.J. Cole or Jahvon Quinerly this spring, two of the top sit-out guard transfers this spring, or secure the pledge of top in-state forward Trendon Watford, he'd up his grade to an A-plus.

Either way, the Nate Oats tenure has gone off without much of a hiccup and he has already shown that he's not going to back away from going after the best of the best.

Vermont has landed Alabama grad transfer Daniel Giddens, source told @Stadium. Began his career at Ohio State. Could be an impact guy in the America East.

Daniel Giddens could set American East conference records for foul outs and turnovers.

Osu then Bama and now Vermont. Wasn’t there a sitcom theme song that went like this. “Moving on up”

Tevin Mack wasn’t invited to the NBA Combine. He has until May 29 to decide whether he wants to return to Alabama or remain in the NBA draft.

No invite for senior Donta Hall, either.

That should solidify Mack coming back even though I think everyone already expected it.

Kind of surprising that’s Donta didn’t get an invite.

Donta has got a couple workouts so far tho and I expect he’ll get more. Would be cool if somehow he got drafted late in the 2nd
