No, i think Curry’s seat is getting warmer by the day. She’s had plenty of time to turn it around and to her credit, she has gotten Bama back to respectable. But we’ve plateaued. Byrne has shown no qualms about pulling the trigger on an underperforming coach. And MaDonna is in our backyard and can probably be had fairly inexpensively until she proves herself. I tjink it happens barring a miracle turnaround by the ladies.

Probably waiting for her contract to run out. Dont want to be saddled with another unearned salary. If she doesn't get extended we will know she is on the hot seat.

Curry has been at Alabama since 2013. Her contract is thru April 30, 2022. She’s currently making $465,000. Her record at Bama is 107-99 (30-66 SEC). She has 3 WNIT bids to her credit.
Madonna has been at Shelton for 22 years. She has 19 consecutive seasons with 20+ wins and 10 seasons with 30 wins and at least 1 Final Four appearance. I have no idea what her salary is but I’d bet its a good bit less than half a million.

I’m not saying it won’t happen, but do y’all think Byrne would actually make that hire? Seems a little too easy of a hire for Byrne. I’d bet my money that it’s some small name coach with a good track record and no connection to the state or university.

The women are 11-7 (1-4) with a RPI of #68 after playing @ #25 LSU, #2 USCe, #20 Kentucky, @ #149 Auburn, @ #64 Tennessee.
Their next 8 games are
#19 Texas A&M
#63 Vanderbilt
#34 Arkansas
@ #273 Ole Miss
@ #20 Kentucky
#149 Auburn
@ #86 Georgia
#138 Florida
They probably need to 6-2 which would get them to 17-9 (7-6) with @ #14 MSU, @ #19 A&M and #147 Mizzou to finish the season. 18-11 (8-8) heading into the SECT.
Seems reasonable to do. Anything less and she is probably gone.

Where SEC teams are at in the newest bracketology from @ESPNLunardi: No. 4 Auburn, No. 5 Kentucky, No. 7 LSU, No. 8 Arkansas, and No. 9 Florida. Alabama is the second team out, and Miss St is in the next four out group

I think when all the chips are on the table we'll comfortably be in the tournament, but that Florida loss could loom large. Really can't believe we lost that game

Excellent! Just keep winning! I want an NCAA bid so bad.

Bama basketball in a nutshell. If you could go back and change one close, choked away game every season over the past decade into a W we would have made the tournament like 7 or 8 times instead of 2.

Woah, Ladies haven't been to the big dance since the 90s.
I'm torn between respect and impressed by Rick Moody to turn this team into a Final Four caliber program, (basically Mississippi State right now).
And exasperation and disappointment that we fell right back down to earth under his watch. Like talk about unable to capitalize on success.

So we'd be on the hook for almost a million if we fire her this year? Can't see that happening for a non-revenue sport. I'm guessing that contract gives her at least one more year.

Think it was noted earlier in the thread that we've covered something like 10 straight games now

I made the mistake of expecting some sort of let down after the Auburn game this weekend, not a loss but expected it to be much closer. Bama was good to me against Florida, Miss St and Auburn, should have never betrayed them.

Similarly, Alabama is ranked #9 in TeamRankings “Last 10 games” category. That traces back to the Penn State game

If the conference tourney started today, we'd have the 4th seed.
We have the tiebreaker over Ark/Tenn/Aub at the moment at 3-2. The only game played between the four is the Ala-Aub game.
Irrelevant for the most part but nice knowing the Aubs are behind us.
