Say instead of doing the BDS renovations right now say we gutted Coleman as soon as the season is over and start it's makeover, where would they play next year? BJCC is closing in March for an 18 month renovation.
My point is that Coleman should be in the process of being renovated right now. They should have started last summer. And they could have. They just didn't want to because God forbid the basketball team get a desperately needed upgrade to an extremely dated facility when we could be using that money to price more fans out of football games and get bigger jumbotrons.

Yeah. It's absolutely bullshite that they are doing the BDS renovation before Coleman.

Share Foster for a season and just live with the small size? There doesn't seem to be a good option until BJCC is available.
There are a lot better options than Foster. They could share Bartow with UAB. It's not difficult to schedule one game at 4pm and the other at 7pm if there happened to be both playing on Saturday. There's also Bill Harris at the Crossplex. Smaller but feasible and can bring in additional seating like they do at Syracuse. It won't happen just because the admins don't care about bball, definitely won't happen if bjcc is under construction because that requires even more planning for the lazy bastards when there are clearly other options out there.

I vote they play all their games in Huntsville until Coleman is done.

According to TeamRankings, Alabama has an 85% chance to make the NCAA Tournament, with an 8 seed being the highest probability (13%). According to these projections, they have a 85% chance of making the tournament with 18 wins. That jumps to 97% with 19 wins.

So what you're saying is that we need 20 wins to get in.
Really though, that is kind of surprising that they'd give us those odds with 18 wins. I know our schedule has been pretty tough, but still. I guess because of how weak the field projects to be this year with the lack of elite teams at the top.

Duke plays at Cameron Arena that was built in 1942...then again they added A/C in 2002.

I'll take it. I just want an NCAA bid
Just saw we moved up to number 2 in the country in scoring offense: https://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1
Also just saw that the 88 points was the most Missouri has given up all season
. They're ranked 13th in the country in scoring defense.

Can we pony up the moneys if a blue blood showed interest in Oats? Whats our ceiling financially if we wanted to keep him?
Posted on 1/19/20 at 9:58 am to Sebastian
I think we will go up to $6M if it required it.

Moving up to our comfortable and familiar position on the NCAA bubble.
We should all be content in the moment

It will speak volumes about our administration if we didn't try. Nothing will force him to stay if his lifelong goal is to coach at ,say, a Syracuse. But, if we don't even try, promise upgrades, etc he's looking for, I will be sorely disappointed in Alabama

And that's what scares me about basketball.
Coleman does have a number of attributes, one being the capacity. 15k at a home game can create quite a bit of home court advantage. But, it could use at least some type of upgrade or replacement and we keep redoing BDS, which already was at the top of college football, puzzles me

Comparing a historic venue like Cameron and one of the most successful programs in college basketball history to Coleman and Alabama.
frick trying to gain any sort of competitive advantage in basketball because BDS needs those new jumbotrons amiright?

15k is way too big for us IMO. We would sell out every game if we dropped down to 10k-11k fans

Cameron is historic due to the Indian's
Coleman is just old due to the Indian's as well

Think we’re a couple years away from really worrying about losing Oats. We’re 10-7 and he’s an unproven recruiter at this point. I say this as a legit Oats believer.

Cameron has a much better layout for basketball than Coleman does.
