I’m gonna go ahead and let things play out with regard to the QB situation.
We have only seen one real game from Ty and no meaningful games from Keelon.
I will say based on the eye test that Keelon has the most natural release I’ve seen in Tuscaloosa since Bryce Young.

Well these schools will probably offer him 5 or more million a year.
Texas, Miami, Oregon....

This is the least of my worries right now. On Wisconsin, develop DL depth.

And do the “rules” you mentioned as giving teams the best chance to win apply in the NIL/portal era where someone can just go out and poach a quarterback and make a run at the big trophy?
Yes they do. Will Howard with Ohio State, McCarthy for Michigan previous year.

Uh, I was under the assumption that Howard signed with Ohio State as a free agent for his senior year rather than hanging around a program. McCarthy is a better example of your contention but I think the going out and poaching a quarterback to make a run is going to become the rule rather than the exception unless teams are willing to spend big to protect their interests.

I'd love to know what Grubb thinks about this situation......

I will repeat something I have said previously on this forum, some agreed and some disagreed which is fine. But IMO moving forward in this current landscape it makes no sense, it’s basically idiotic, to sign a jillion quarterbacks because you won’t have enough footballs to keep them happy and those who aren’t happy will split unless you pay them a jillion dollars to hang around. And even then there’s liable to be someone else who will pay them more to play, and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it, players are in the driver’s seat.

Oregon lost a 5 star qb who was on campus for about 2 weeks after he realized he wasn't going to start this year. I don't necessarily agree with that line of thinking but it's more prevalent that you'd think.

After seeing keelon and Austin, I'm kinda struggling to see why ty is the starter... And why we didn't introduce a new wrinkle in the game against FSU.

Does anyone think we win vs if Mack or Keelon starts/plays?
Wwssd
What would Steve Spurrier do? Can you imagine?
Ty was/is the starter because he stayed and bid his time. Don't think it was based on talent.

I acknowledge that and I respect that, It’s the way a lot if not most programs have operated.
I guess this is a devil’s advocate question but can you still afford to operate like that in the NIL/portal era?
Developing a team is no longer a four- or five-year process, if developing a team is even relevant at all. You’re basically dealing with year to year free agency.
And yes I know fans hate it and it’s driving people away from the sport …

Go watch a replay of how he celebrated Keelon's late TD pass and I think you'll have your answer

Because we cannot … CANNOT … let Russell walk.
Definitely. He's one that's worth whatever it takes.

Ty went 17 for 17, setting an all time Alabama record. What more can you ask of the kid?
And I get it. Russell looked amazing. The second TD throw was incredible. But the starter didn't miss a single throw.

Ty also had the 42 yard strike to Bernard for a TD called back, which was absolutely beautiful how he rolled away from the LB blitzing free up the middle and hit Bernard perfectly in stride while TS was on the move.
The same posters on this board who are hating on TY were also the ones who made excuse after excuse for Milroe the last two seasons. Go figure..

Who the frick is hating on Ty? He was fantastic Saturday.
Some of us just understand what we have behind him in Russell and want to keep him in Tuscaloosa.

There is no basis in what these people are seeing to think Keelan is better than Ty. Its like they just can't wait for Ty to get out of the way as he is being a phenom QB. Its crazy.
