I’ll make it easy. Tua is a much more complete QB than smacking. Our offense is much better under Mac because he recognizes his limitations and we run a much more balanced offense that’s more effective.

i think mac is a lot closer to tua than most of us was giving him credit for at the start of the season, except for one area. running. mac is a little bit faster than gary hollingsworth but he does seem to run smart, i think?

I don’t know what people were looking at but I always thought that Tua kind of had a bit of a garbage deep ball? Like Mac’s deep ball looks so much better than his does.
Tua’s short to intermediate pass game is better than Mac’s however. I think the reason why Clemson beat Alabama so bad is that Tua made so many pre-snap reads and was way too jittery in the pocket. Brent Venables won’t have near as easy of a time game planning for Mac as he did with Tua. Alabama was easy to read for the teams with equal talent because of the offense we ran and the way Tua ran it.
Reason Alabama is so hard to stop now is because it’s not dependent on the read option and more so on pure play design and athletic ability. People might call it salt or being a bad sport, but I think once these analysts/scouts and NFL teams realize Trevor’s WRs bail him out on a regular basis, they’ll find he’s not the all time great people think he is. That was a 6’ 5” QB throwing to 2 6’ 5” WR on 5’ 10”-6’ CBs.
I hope Clemson meets us again. I’d love that matchup.

I don't know about that, but Mac has dropped some deep balls on dimes that there was no way Tua or any other human could have placed the ball more perfectly.

I don’t know how I’d rank each of those categories, all I know is I’d take Mac over Tua every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

When he stopped (it took him roughly the same time it takes a train to stop) and cut up the field I was flummoxed.
It looked like an aircraft carrier trying to stop from full steam ahead.

I agree that the offense now is better in large part because we use a more powerful running game instead of the RPO runs.
As far as Mac realizing his limitations, could you expand on that some?

If you watch Mac in the pocket he never takes his eyes off from down field. Even when someone is right on him, he will slide in the pocket and deliver. His pocket awareness is elite.

Easy: Mac Limitation is that He can't run. White boys can't run.

Loved watching Tua play but I would take Mac over Tua. He seems more durable.

Mac’s run to the right side for the first down was like watching a movie. Kind of suspenseful. He managed that stop and redirect for the first down. Resourceful if not fast.
I laughed at that play. I thought he made a mistake when he stopped but he clearly knew better than I did.

I felt at times Tua relied on his arm or his athletic ability and he would try to extend plays that weren’t there. It caused some untimely turnovers and unfortunately led to more than a couple of injuries. Every play he was injured on was him trying to create. Sometimes the play is just dead.

The offense we are running now is so much better than the one we ran with Tua and I also feel like our o-line / running game is stronger - but again that may have to do with the offensive system.

This is for honest discussion.
Here's the discussion. Tua has 19 million dollars in the bank.

Endorsements, good tax attorney, the 19M was the signing bonus. Quite sure he has at least 19M lamb tongues in the bank.
