That game comparison is hard to do. We literally had to score every possession vs Ole Miss to win the game. With our defensive improvement, Mac comes out several games, and we also just start running the ball more.

Again, I'm not complaining, but I would point out that Mac's attempts per game has remained constant throughout the season. He was at 28.75 pre-Waddle injury and he's at 28 post. The yards per pass is what has decreased (which you would expect). I don't think it's critical to say that the loss of Waddle has had a negative impact on our passing game. Again, it's nothing that we can't overcome, but it is there.

“College first fans love the narrative, professional first fans love the talent.”

Won’t even look at this thread, because, there isn’t an unbiased observer or NFL scout on planet earth that thinks Mac is as good as Tua.

I frickin’ love Mac. He very well may play in the league for a while. But Tua’s ball was the prettiest thing I saw on a week in and week out basis.

That beauty from Mac to Metchie in the corner of the EZ Saturday was awesome. The thing is, Tua can do that from 40 yards out (see that pass to Waddle @ UTk).

Let’s just be thankful we don’t miss a beat behind center at Alabama, unlike other programs such as UGA.

Mac can't scramble. But that got Tua hurt.

Because he can't scramble, he has elevated his pocket awareness. I think in this respect, he's better than Tua.

He also doesn't have the tendency to "go rogue" and make boneheaded cowboy moves the way a gunslinger like Tua did.

Not saying's one's better than the other. But would I take Tua back right now if he wanted to come back over Mac? Not a chance.

The main things that always stood out to me about tua was that rattlesnake quick release, and the ball just kinda jumps out of his had in a crazy way. Some of the td passes he was making in the nfl brought that back to my mind. I think tua has a bit more pure arm strength to drive it downfield, he could put a 50 yarder on a low trajectory so the ball got there really quick, but I do think on the whole mac is throwing a nicer deep ball. Mac arcs it in with better touch and placement. and he rarely throws a deep ball that is intercept-able. It's usually dropping in perfectly where only our wr can get it.

For sure. I remember being amazed the first time I saw Tua throw the ball in person, LSU 2018. I had a great view of that pass to Waddle on the sideline, vantage point was directly behind the offense. Incredible velocity and trajectory, I've never seen anything like it.
