Update: it's sounding like there won't be a draft press conference, so I'll be glued to Twitter/Instagram over the weekend.

I enjoyed those but I had a feeling the days of those press conferences were dead unless Bama wins the Natty.

Could make things interesting going forward. A program like Wisconsin could sneak into the playoffs with a senior laden team.

Yea I mean Evan Neal and Jameson are probably the two most prominent and they just went ahead and announced on social media. Perhaps the press conference is a thing of the past.

Harris had a really good 2 playoff games. He should leave now. I expect HTT back for some reason
I think that is why he may stay because it pushed him up into the 2nd round but I think if he stayed he could end up a 1st rounder next year.

I saw someone posted Javon Baker was going in the portal but I haven’t seen anything official. Any update on him?

Another interesting tight end in the portal - Michael Trigg from Southern Cal. We recruited him really hard a few years ago out of Tampa. He would be a Sophomore. Had 7 catches for 109 yards as a true freshman through 4 games before he got hurt.
Michael Trigg - TE (247)
He's apparently talked to Ole Miss, LSU and Florida.

Tight end projection that is more of a big wide receiver in terms of body type and usage in high school. Underdeveloped frame that has a capacity for transformation. Extremely productive pass catcher against shoddy competition. Natural hands catcher. Good body control and ball skills. Easy athlete that can be dangerous after the catch and has played quarterback in a run-heavy role. Isn’t asked to play in-line but has shown some willingness to block in H-back roles and is active on defense. High end basketball player. Evaluation changes if he’s a wide receiver because separation speed isn’t obvious. Very much a hybrid type that may not fit every offense. We view as a future tight end with significant upside in the right system and with development will be a Power Five impact starter and a mid round NFL Draft pick.

I too, saw a post this morning that indicated Baker to the Portal... have searched off and on all day... nothing else. I can totally see the transfer; but, as yet no mentions other that the original post... may have be a thought and not a real commitment from the player??

Maybe it was meant to Be Barker and it was a typo.

I saw Bru McCoy from USC entered also. Played with Bryce at Mater Dei and would be a solid replacement for Billingsley id think. No clue if we’re looking at the kid but hope so

Any Bama WR entering the portal now is just admitting they aren't good enough to compete because that position basically has 3-4 "starters" and it's wide open heading into the spring.

This is the sort of "according to a 4th hand source" information that the current NFL draft will they/won't they cycle has been missing!

Pretty wild that we've never had a #1 pick in the history of our program and it's possible that we have the #1 pick for 2 straight years if Jacksonville stays at #1 and takes Evan Neal.

Great post!!! Put some folks in their place. Not anyone around here, but other fan bases. Will is a once in a decade player. Maybe better. Best at Bama since Thomas. I wish we gave Will that freedom

Harry Gilmer was selected # 1 overall in 1948 and Joe Namath was selected #1 in the AFL draft.

#8 and #10 should both return. I think it is in their best interest(all things considered).

I think that 8 played well enough the last 2 months that the league is pretty high on him and he will be (most likely) a 2nd/3rd round pick.
I don't know if either of these guys could better their grades should they come back? After all, 10 lead the team in tackles. Would be nice to have the front 7 play caller back to help the next guy up learn.
1 out of 2 aint bad
