Why do you think I was disagreeing with your post? I just used yours as the most recent reply. I thought I was clearly addressing the overall content of the thread.

There are a number of funny, interesting and ironic interactions/posting going on in this thread, not the least of which is the two biggest I told you so's/y'all ridiculed me back when I said this, on the board going back and forth.

Grubb would be an awesome hire. That Washington offense was fun to watch last season. Michael Penis is also legit. Kid lit up Ohio State a few years ago while running for his life

It’s different when the player coming in is definitely a one and done and the players behind him are 2 true Freshmen, RS Freshman, and a sophomore, whose only real game experience was a baptism by fire. Yes, some could transfer. Or all could stay if Penix comes in and wins the QB job outright. That’s the difference between a 6th year player and a young 1st/2nd year player. Regardless, of the 4 QBs on our roster now, some are going to transfer even if Penix stays in Washington, which he probably will.

It was all before “unlimited” transfers and NIL.

We've always had "NIL"...it just hasn't always been legal. Schools have been taking graduate transfers for some years. Jalen, Tua, Mac, and Bryce came to Alabama all knowing that Bama could have taken a transfer QB at any time. Jalen certainly could have transferred before he did. None of those young men shied away from competition at the position. They came, knowing they might have to wait their turn. As far as players jumping into the portal, judging from his public comments, Saban seems to think we're better off without them. I tend to agree.

Daboll as OC was fine. The problem was he did not do much in terms of QB development. Jalen regressed from his first year with Kiffin to his second year with Daboll. Then he got better the next year working with Enos. Of course if you look at his resume he really was not a guy that had worked with QBs much so that makes sense.

What a disappointment. I was so stoked to get rid of the clowns we had and now I am concerned we arent going to even be able to replace them. Its hard to figure how you turn down the GOAT if he wants you.

RELAX. There are lots of OC options out there.
