Would be a great hire IMO

A Georgia buddy of mine just texted me and said we are getting him and their QB Penix is coming with him? Not sure how he knows, but thats what he is hearing.

Even Alabama insiders don't seem to know much I doubt your Georgia buddy knows much.

Would suck for Washington because they just lost Huard to Cal Poly via the portal.

Oh I am sure that's the case. I am just saying that apparently that rumor is getting legs to it. He is likely getting it from a paywall forum? I'm more intrigued by the DC opening any ways.

That would be an interesting development. Seems like a pretty good QB and very experienced

I can see the student section t-shirts now

Supposedly he currently makes $2 mil at Washington, so that might make it more difficult to get him if he wants a pay raise.
That puts him in the Monken salary range. He got two big raises to close out the year as rumors of him to A&M began. He is their highest paid assistant in program history.
But, he has been putting in work.
Washington ranks second in the country in yards per game (522.2), fourth in yards per play (7.02), first in passing offense (376.7 yards per game) and fourth in scoring (40.8 points per game)

On3 just confirmed as well, he's making the flight to Tuscaloosa to meet Saban in person. He's already making 2 mil at UW, so flying across the country making that kind of cash already as an OC should be a good sign for us.
Read a pretty good write up on him. Looks like he's coached every position on offense, including being an Associate Head Coach and run game coordinator in prior years.
Sounds like a great fit, wouldn't worry about his pass heavy scheme, we know he'll be running Saban's offense with his own wrinkles. Looks like he runs a lot of pre-snap motions, which some of us have been missing over the past season or two. Pretty excited to see what he can do with the talent on this roster.

Being report by Travis Reier on BOL that Grubb was expected to visit today with UA head coach Nick Saban in Tuscalooosa. That seems to be kind of a big deal to fly all of the way from Seattle to Tuscaloosa for an interview.
ETA: Just saw your post Dalton. If both On3 and BOL are reporting it, then I would think that there is definitely smoke there.

Having flown to and from Tampa to Portland OR, choosing to sit on a plane for that long, no matter how nice, is not a small thing.

I think that's the first candidate to have a sit down with Saban today

Yep, will be interesting to see if there are any other leaks of in person interviews in the upcoming days.

Maybe he was waiting to get these junior days over with and visiting schools across the South the last week or so and is getting down to the business of hiring his coordinators now

Seems like the likely case.
Now keep in mind that DeBoer gave Grubb a pay raise in November to would have paid him $1.45 million, $1.55 million and $1.67 million over the next three years. Then Texas A&M came snooping around, so DeBoer gave him another raise to $2 mil at the end of December. If I was DeBoer I'd be a little pissed that I just gave him back to back raises and he is still flying to Tuscaloosa for an interview.
