He WILL be fired. 100%. He will not make it or be successful in any positive regard at Alabama. He is fricking lost and in over his head and there’s no way to fix it.
The only question is when he will be fired— will it be this season, next season, or after he’s set the program back to the dark ages where we were before Saban.

Take this as you will but Finebaum said he was talking to Dan Orlovsky of ESPN and Orlovsky said he counted 20 … 20 … players on our team “loafing” at one time or another during the game. Yet we need to go out there loose as geese with no pressure.

If…excuse me WHEN this idiot turns in a 6-6 record and a B”ham Bowl invite, watch how fast that $70 million appears. And 6-6 might be too optimistic.

That's a stretch, but if Byrne hasn't begun discussing settlement agreement, he's a bigger idiot than CKD.
Greg Byrne shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the next coaching search. He needs to go too. Yeah, I know he hired Oats. He's also ultimately responsible for the destruction of the biggest brand in college football. Hiring Oats doesn't give him a pass for the DeBoer disaster.

The late great John McKay
“What do you think of your team’s execution coach?” To which McKay replied, “I’m in favor of it.”
We're getting close

Billionaire Dave Portnoy said, and I quote “that’s ashtray money.”
70mil is not a lot today when you can have 10 of something called a “bitcoin” and be a millionaire. Bama even has support of celebrities like Druski who consistently net in the millions of dollars every year.
There aren’t any billionaires laying around, but it’s not like T. Boone Pickens helped OSU turn the college football world upside down, either. Or any of the Texas oil billionaires that helped Texas win 15+ championships in their history…..oh wait….they only have 4 AP recognized championships in their history.
It’s about administrative support, not money. Or at least it used to be.

Why would you fork over $70M before getting ~$20M together for a an OSU style offseason where you spend like crazy on the roster?
An elite left tackle and stronger DL would help faster than a head coaching change, wouldn’t it?

Who did you want? Who do you want now?
I swear I’m not trying to defend Byrne or DeBoer. But damn, it feels early to completely blow up the entire organization.

On top of that, he needs a Penix level QB and Odunze level receivers. You won’t find many of those in the portal or on our roster. A great coach can be competitive even when he’s overmatched on talent. A mediocre coach gets manhandled by inferior talent that wants it more and only wins if he has superior talent. You tell me which one we have

Finebaum was saying he’s been in contact with some big money boosters who say they want CKD gone.
I have no doubt he's telling the truth here, but someone actually footing the bill for that to happen is extraordinarily unlikely.

Womack has to go. The sooner the better and I'm all for using a trooper escort to get his arse out of the state. CKD probably needs to be in the next car, but not sure UA can afford it or the hemorrhaging of roster talent that would follow. For now, he needs a task-master first sergeant type to help get the house in order and look out for the details. That's something an intelligent coach would have done already, but obviously this one needs some direction.

roster talent
Can that be overstated? I think most people (not Bama fans) that watched the game Saturday wouldn't agree that Bama was well ahead talent wise than FSU. Just recruiting rankings and we know how that turned out for so many that left Bama.

It comes down to how we do the rest of the season. That's it. If we don't go to a bowl game and lose to Auburn and Tennessee it's over no matter the money. The university knows how much money the football program brings on and if you're not producing the money dries up ergo the trickle effect. It's not complicated at all.
His but out is 58 million next year. That 12 million less. You make the sec championship/playoffs and make that back with tv money, merchandise and nil. Or you keep producing a bad product and the money dries up. Easy as that

If you fire him you're committing to a complete rebuild. Another open portal for 30 days will see the roster emptied out and say goodbye to the recruiting class. And honestly I don't know what quality of coach you're going to get to walk into a situation like that. Certainly not a situation that'll lead to any sec championship/playoff appearances any time soon to make that money back.

Plus, it’s not a lump sum payout. I would guess it’s probably a third up front then the rest over the length of the contract.
