Exactly. His future is set with that money. The dude has won the lottery with that buyout. He and his BBQ buddies from Seattle don’t give a shite about our program. We know that they don’t want to be here. Ryan Grubb sure as hell dosen’t. He left us at the altar twice in order to stay in Seattle.

It’s also hard to think you’re doing a bad job when all of your employees are your best friends with no spine.

I can’t believe that as a man, as a competitive football coach, as someone who has been successful wherever he’s been, he’s OK with what is happening regardless of the money. I’d be at Defcon 1 until we got it straightened out. I can be just as mercenary as anyone else but I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror in the morning with this hanging over me, having embarrassed myself and my employer this way.

The money figure in question is not $70 million. It's $10 million. That's how much CKD's buyout declines next year. The power players will have to figure out is if it's worth $10 million to keep the wrong coach for an extra season.

The only way you could frick it up is being grossly incompetent. I’m not sure how KDB can have huge wins and take teams to the Natty and then look like this. It’s basic principals that’s missing.
I mean, plenty of awful coaches have had a flash in the pan season. Larry Coker, Yawyaw, and Chizik all won titles. Granted, the first two had much more talent up and down the roster and the latter had Cam Newton, but it has been done before on multiple occasions. Unfortunately I think there's a lot of truth to that CBS article that said DeBoer essentially savors the aroma of his own farts and thinks he can just draw up a gameplan and outsmart his opponents like this is the fricking Pac-12 and half your opponents have an entire staff of assistant coaches making less than one SEC defensive coordinator.

Thing is...if they paid the $70 million buyout, they'd just turn around and give some other guy a ridiculous guaranteed contract with a massive buyout without knowing if he's going to be worth a shite either.
It's just a stupid, stupid system...giving multi-generational wealth for complete failure.
Boy, the Jimmy Sextons of the world made universities their b!tches...we never should even be here. In 2000, only 3 coaches TOTAL made a $1 million salary...Bowden, Spurrier and Saban. And there definitely weren't $70 million buyout clauses. Talk about inflation.

What a prediction. He might as well be a random poster on this board. He could at least be like GMac and make a definitive statement.

Typically Finebaum troll bullshite he has been doing since the 80's. He doesn't know shite. We aren't firing DeBoer anytime soon.

Kane Wommack needs to be under extreme scrutiny moving forward. I believe that after Saturday he is on borrowed time as Alabama DC. The defense has not shown any ability to stop or even slow down a spread option offense with a mobile quarterback.
The play is to dump Wommack and tell the NCAA to F off and make Pruitt an offer he can't refuse.

What did he say? I just saw where he had dogged the lack of effort.

Sorry, I was referencing his comment about Saban coming back to coaching.

69 vs 60? Not that either will stick.

Finebaum is merely juicing fan bases up for arguing on his bullshite show
Posted on 9/1/25 at 12:23 pm to Woody4daTide9
Look I know fans hate him but I promise you Finebaum has all the trustees’ phone numbers in his phone contacts including Paul Bryant Jr. What’s going on here is what someone mentioned above although I am the only one who caught it. A message is being sent to DeBoer, through the media so everyone will hear it. Simple as that. Just like Saban used to send messages to his team through the media at his press conferences so everyone would hear it.

If I were CKD, I would have woken up yesterday morning scared to death for my job.
People with $70MMM golden parachutes don't wake up scared of anything unless they have run up $71MM in debt.

Of course and in turn it will have his show at the top this week
Posted on 9/1/25 at 12:26 pm to Woody4daTide9
You think whoever leaked that to him didn’t know that?
Posted on 9/1/25 at 12:28 pm to InkStainedWretch
Of course they did. Very dipshit college football fan will be tuned in

I think the message is the buyout will sting but it’s not insurmountable and the powers that be are not going to let the program get flushed down the toilet.
