The transfer portal has turned college sports into a massive pro level free agency.
One of the biggest reasons I hate pro sports is that players jump so often from team to team, it's hard to root for them.
Yay! He's wearing my team's uniform this year. Boo! He's wearing another team's uniform next year.

Best of luck to JQ he gave us plenty of fun memories over the years. Hate to see him go.

We need another point guard. Sears is a short 2 guard with limited upside around the rim. Hopefully Wrightsell can play a little point. We also have Davin Cosby.

This feels like someone kicked me in my stomach. Ugh!!!!

I just can't believe he still has eligibility left.

Probably transferring to Memphis so he can shoot ten midrange shots a game at 30%.

So he goes from throwing lobs to Nelson during his visit to the portal within two weeks..somebody must have backed up the Brinks truck. But seriously, I think Trilly or someone hinted at this about a month ago, so Q has probably been considering it for a while

Calm down mistaken...

Ain't nobody say JQ leaving but I understand your point that you're making.

The former 5* recruit has spent the last three seasons in Tuscaloosa.

It's all Joka's fault.

We sold Nelson on a Brandon Miller like usage percentage on offense, JQ may have thought he was gonna behind Estrada and Nelson in usage and maybe he can be the main guy at Memphis or wherever he goes idk.

Guess he thinks he has to have a huge year this year.

Genuinely don't understand this. There's nowhere he can go that'll increase his chances of getting drafted. He's supposedly been making plenty in NIL at Bama. He seems to love Bama and Oats. I just don't get it.

JQ’s NIL $ is primarily his own brand. Given that, the only way this makes sense is if he sees PT issues with the transfers coming in. Which means they must be looking good.

im surely in the minority here but im glad hes moving on. theres no way our D wouldve been top tier with him on the team. those very small 3 or even 4 guard lineups that our current roster wouldve demanded at times wouldve been fun but not championship level. then on offense hes a fun player who had his moments but way too inconsistent in his decision making and shooting to lead the helm in an offense as fast as ours when again, the goal is a national title. best of luck jq and get that payday while you can, now whats up with raequan battle?

Is Battle in play? How we compare to WVU?

I had such a love/hate relationship with the dude, but it's hard to argue that there is far more uncertainty without him. Hopefully, Wrightsell is ready for big minutes (and yes, I've heard the rumors that he was doing well while simultaneously being held out of practice).

It's baffling, but at the same time it isn't. The dude has been ironically throwing shade at the analytics world for a few years now, and I'd imagine he was sold on coming back as 6th man again which he probably took as a slight. Hopefully, we can come up with a good ball-handler out of the scraps of the portal. I don't mind him leaving as much as when he chose to do it. This was clearly unexpected as the staff hasn't been in on a guard since we landed Estrada and Wrightsell.

I really like Battle and have been pretty loud in that opinion, but we need a ball-handler IMO. He doesn't need to be a starter or anything, but outside of Estrada we're pretty thin in that department now. Crazy how quickly a strength can seemingly turn into a weakness in the portal world (and vice versa).
