My dad died a few weeks back.

I was thinking about it and remembered the last Ala-Aub contest we ever saw was the comeback from 17 down at Coleman to win the regular season title. I will not forget that night anytime soon for those 2 reasons. We were tired but on cloud 9 the whole way home. Happy Fathers Day!!

That was the first ever Bama bball game my dad and I went to together. Been to a lot of football games, but never bball together. Was a special night to be in the building.

Despite him only being in his early 60s, I doubt I'll have him much longer. He's had a lot of health issues lately, and cognitively he's starting to decline in spots.

One of , if not the best games I have ever been to in Coleman

Dan Hurley is trying to swoop in last minute and hire Preston Murphy. They worked together two years at Rhode Island when Hurley was the HC there.

Alabama Basketball Newcomer Breakdown: Latrell Wrightsell Jr. (SI)

Wrightsell provides extra depth and scoring to the Crimson Tide's star-studded backcourt that will be one of the best in the country.

Are we set on Murphy, or is there someone else in the mix?

Can Nate call Bobby Hurley and ask him to tell his brother to frick off?

It was posted on twitter by someone supposedly reliable but looking through their past tweets it looks like theyve gotten a lot wrong before. UConn has a full staff anyway so I’m not sure how they’d hire Murphy unless it was for an off the court position.

UConn is full and Preston won’t be leaving Bama from what I heard

Even if they had a spot open, I don’t think he’d entertain it

That'd just be a dumb career move for a guy coming off a show cause. Burning a bridge to a P-6 program who just had 3 assistants take D1 HC jobs immediately after being released from NCAA timeout just seems pretty foolish.

It also sounds incredibly shitty of Hurley. Especially trying to pull that kind of move on someone who'd call you a friend. I've thought Dan was a fricking a-hole since his days at Rhode Island though.

Yeah even if he was offered a job there I think he would still come here. He’s been low key hired for a while now

Same here. Can’t wait until Wednesday morning when he delays it a month bc his grandfather’s cat got sick and had to go to the vet in Hong Kong or some weird excuse like that.

Somehow I feel like this is still exactly what Oats is like now with the Crimson Tide.

Maybe I'm misreading the situation but it seems to me that delays favor UNC since they would prefer him in the 2024 class, so if there is no announcement on Wednesday it's probably not going to go our way. If he's going to reclassify it wouldn't make sense to keep putting it off with school starting back like the first week of August these days.

It's all speculation at this point. But I can't imagine 2-3 days means anything with several weeks before classes start. My theory is he wants to play in our system, but grew up wearing baby blue. I'm honestly amazed we are in it for him considering the circumstances. That would be like if Marlon Humphrey picked TCU over Bama.
