We were 16th in adjusted offense two years ago without Miller and last year we were 20th. He was a great player but losing him doesn't mean we cant still have a top 15 offense, I think we will.

think you are vastly underestimating how good Brandon Miller was and how much better he made everybody else. We should still be good but come on.
And I think you are underestimating how much of a lane clogger Bediako was. Having a big that is a threat to step out and knock down a 3 will give JQ,Sears, and Estrada much more room to get to the basket for layups.

The absolute worst offense we’ve fielded under Oats was 33rd in 2019. I’m optimistic that Javian Davis and Beetle Bolden wouldn’t be playing huge minutes on next year’s squad

It's almost like if the shot selection is consistently good the offense will be competent at worst. It's going to look different every year because the best players will have different skill sets, but it's not like we're going to revert to Grant era pass the ball around the perimeter for 20 seconds until someone takes a contested 3 or makes a wild drive through traffic with < 5 left on the clock.

Don’t want to trigger PTSD, but it took incomprehensibly poor 3 point shooting in the last few weeks to cause us to be 20th with Miller’s talent. If our shooting doesn’t fall off a cliff late next year, maybe that offsets not having Miller’s talent.
If we do shoot that poorly next year down the stretch, don’t know if there is a guy that can single handily keep us from an embarrassing loss like Miller did in the OT win against SC.

I was told that Grant already signed the paperwork.
I don't know how credible this person is but just thought I would share what was told too me.
Downvote it or whatever but just thought I would share.

Depends on whether CNO learned anything from the the team "hitting the wall"

hitting the wall
I think the only wall we hit last season was built by Joe Goodman, Clay Travis, and the rest of the irresponsible clickbait journalists. I believe the outside noise just finally became too much.

I also think that the reason his teams hit a wall from time to time is because they never really have/had a true back to the basketball post scorer but if Grant Nelson comes here then we will officially have one of those types.
Somebody who can get easy buckets in the half court offense.

All that had to be a factor but it happens to some extent every year.

You make a great point. Teams did not have to defend the post we were pretty much going to do the same things, sans an occasional pick and roll.
6 ft 1 guard drives among the trees and if he doesnt get stuffed and actually makes a very tough contested shot, he kicks out for a three.
If we do get Nelson. I'd love us to find a 6'9 or 10 stone cold enforcer type that wouldnt let us get shoved around like some teams did last year.

Four-Star CG Jared Harris updates recruitment
Silsbee (Texas) High four-star combo guard Jared Harris is the No. 67 overall player in the On3 2024 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. The 6-foot-3 rising senior updated his college recruitment with On3 while at the Pangos All-American Camp.
Harris has yet to take any official visits, but says he’s planning on setting one of up with the Kansas Jayhawks soon.
Harris talks Kansas, other programs involved
“I like how they run their sets,” Harris said of Kansas. “The coaches, they don’t just play through one player. They play through team play. (Kansas) has a good vibe.”
Along with Kansas, Harris says Kansas State, Auburn, Texas, and Alabama are also involved in his recruitment. He broke down each of those programs.
Kansas State: “They’re a well-playing, shooting team. I love to shoot the ball so I think I’m a good fit.”
Auburn: “They’re a guard-focused team and that’s what I like about them. They rely on guards a lot.”
Texas: “They’re a fast-paced team and they get it up and down the court, and that’s what I love.”
Alabama: “They get guys to the league and they also play fast.”
Harris said a visit to SMU is also likely. He says he would like to make a decision by the beginning of the upcoming school year.
Scouting Report
“With Jared Harris it’s about the upside. He has a projectable frame with good size. He has long arms and is very twitchy which helps him off off the bounce. He will need to continue adding strength, which will help on both sides of the floor. Harris is a confident jump shooter, from three, especially when his feet are set. This opens up his ability to get downhill and attack close outs. Harris has a solid handle, you’d like to see him develop some counters however. On defense you like the upside with his measurable. He will need to continue getting game reps, working on his decision making. The tools are in there and the upside is clear. Watch to see how he continues to develop. Harris’ best basketball could be just ahead.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

Do some Bama fans still think Bama doesnt have any Bball NIL money now that we beat Arkansas, the king of NIL, for arguably the top transfer in the portal?
All I heard the week before he committed was “mandy hunt, mandy hunt”

Never said we didn’t have NIL. I said we weren’t willing to use it for any sport other than Football. We were in a desperate enough spot to use it for him.
