Freeman must be a top priority for '24.

Why would we want him. He's probably way too slow. And I doubt he has any eligibility left. He's also too short to play the 4 or 5 spots. But he does look great for his age.

Will someone with an On3+ sub let us know what the Donnie Freeman quotes are?

Not any great insight,usual stuff.
Liked everything, watched a game, hung out with Miller, being recruited for the same position, parents really liked Bama, NIL not everything, parents dealt with that aspect, saw things like scouting and recovery by the players. Fit, Coach and help getting to the league important, talks to Hodgson a lot.

What’s up with Philon, heard he might be a Barner and announcing in few days? How did we miss on him? Need some background info.

I think at his most recent tournament alabama didn’t go watch (at least it wasn’t reported as far as I know). I imagine that means they’ve known for a bit he wasn’t coming here. It’ll be a nice pickup for auburn.

That's a bummer if true. He would've been a good fit here.

If Clowney leaves and Johnson makes it to campus, we will have three open spots to fill. We aren't 100% sure about either technically, so the open scholarship tally is somewhere between two and four (assuming there aren't any other surprises).

Clowney leaving is pretty likely at this point tbh, but I have no idea about the Johnson situation. The rumors do not sound great. If there is any truth to them, he won't be here. That may not be the worst thing for us, we could probably replace him with a higher rated player in the 2024 class or grab an impact transfer from the portal.

I know some of the guys are somewhat interchangeable at the bottom, but I just wanted to get an idea of the projected positional makeup as we look for what we want and what we need to add to the program.

Auburn just got a commitment from a different 2024 5 star PG today, Tahaad Pettiford. i guess they could still get Philon too?

So we need to add probably 3 more players in next years class, maybe 4 depending on Johnson.

Gonna be a busy portal season for us.

A lot of talk on TI about lack of NIL in basketball. Philon getting a nice pay day. Saying we are behind in money. No idea if true, just passing on some talk out there.

We are also still recruiting 2023 4* Kris Parker. Landing him would change the math as well.

We may not be blatantly cheating in NIL like some schools are but I know Miller, Bradley, and Sears got good NIL deals. This new NIL collective we have through Learfield seems like it will be a homerun.

That reminds me I was listening to Wimp Sandersons radio show he has with his son the other day he said something like “Bama’s always loved that NIL, I never did have a problem getting NIL money for players when I was coaching.”

That’s the rumor. Will announce Friday before the school’s pep-rally.

Got to hand it to Pearl, he is doing well with this class and next years. He is also getting them from basketball factory states in the Northeast. They come with a different kind of swagger.

Like Pitino taking Sebastian Telfair over Rajon Rondo?
