come back in January

Rojas got hurt in June and played mid January. JQ got hurt mid March. Depending on severity, he may get back sooner than January. JQ will help us this year.

Rojas’s tear was only partial.

And Q’s game is much different than Rojas.

Welp, UK just offered Peja's son. Guess Cal is realizing loading up your classes with five stars isn't sustainable.

JQ won't be ready till late January.

His play style is what leads me to thinking this. I don't expect him to be ready before this unless he has that Adrian Peterson type recovery response.

Idk I’m actually looking forward to being able to throw out different looks later in the season. If we’re not total arse getting a positive impact back in the middle of season with enough time to get fully integrated before the tournament is going to be a luxury.

Hopefully JQ does nothing but shoot the ball during his rehab. Because I think he is primarily play the 2 and Bradley and Sears will be the main ball handlers.

Right now with the 11 we got I expect our starting 5 to be:

Sears
Burnett
Miller
Miles
Bediako.

But when you play 2 of our 3 small guys together Burnett can slide to the 3. So We could see Nimari play the 3 a lot when we play Sears or JQ at the 2.

I think Gurley will be given the chance to start at beginning of the season. Might not remain a starter if he doesn’t shoot it better than last year, but I think he’ll get the opportunity early in the season.

Tampa transfer Max Jones tells ESPN he’s heard from Virginia, Villanova, LSU, Alabama, Western Kentucky, Iowa State, Cal State Fullerton, FAU, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. One of the best D2 players in the country. 6-5 guard averaged 21.9 points this past season.

He looks like he could be a good pick up. He most definitely can shoot that's very noticeable so he could be a good role player.

Quinerly just tweeted that he’s coming back

This is massive, season changing news here.

We basically saved the 13th spot for JQ. Recover, get better, and then possibly add a former 5-Star, former SEC Tournament MVP, and someone who has been one of our top 1-3 players the last 2 seasons.

It might be December, January, mid-February…who gives a sh*t? This risk is totally worth it instead of adding some small college JuCo who might be as good as James Bolden if we are lucky.

So, 2 spots remaining?

Sears/Bradley
Burnett/Quinerly
Miller/Miles/Griffen
Gurley/Clowney
Bediako/Pringle

Big men will still be the biggest issue unless Nate hits a homerun with the last 2 spots.

Who starts doesn’t matter to me. Who finishes tight games is more important. Who do you want in a tight game with 5 minutes left?

Davis officially cut his list to 4, and we're not on there. I hope it is because he wasn't interested or didn't want the competition.

Ecstatic that we got Sears, and I know it isn't over yet, but I'm pretty disappointed with how this has turned out so far. At this point we will be putting an incredible amount of stock into guys that haven't played or barely played at the collegiate level.

A roster that is both extremely talented and extremely inexperienced is not a good recipe for portal success unfortunately. It's tough to sell a kid who only has a year or two of eligibility left on the opportunity to come in and compete for minutes with players who are equally or more talented. They want to have some idea of where they'd stand on the roster, and right now our staff can't really give that to them because there is so much uncertainty with how minutes are going to be distributed next season.

So far we have not handled it well. Sugar coat it all you want but this has not been good roster management so far. It's the wild wild west out there, but right now we are being gunned down.
