If he can get a rhythm offensively shoot Holt is going to surprise you.
He has to play more and he's shown that he's capable of making plays on offense as well.
I liked the play where he just went in there and snatched a rebound out the air.

Anybody got the deets on this Leonard Miller kid from Canada we are in the mix for?
He is a 5 star, #11 overall On3 but isn’t ranked by anyone else.

His brother plays at TCU so I know they’ll be a big threat for him, but we’ve got a strong Canadian connection and play the perfect type of offense for him, so if we can get a visit, I think we have as good a chance as anyone. Seems like from the On3 article he’s a take even now, which makes sense considering how many guys we’ll probably lose this off-season.
Lanky 6-10 frame with elite scoring prowess and a solid 3pt shot sounds like a match made in heaven to me. I guess we’ll wait and see.

Isn't he the kid that kind of showed up out of nowhere? Seems to fit the mold of guys we've swooped in and stolen late the last few years - Primo, Tchikou.

Wasn't he the guy that was kind of sort of maybe going to reclassify last summer? And we thought we had a chance at him?
I remember the narrative - that he had come out of nowhere, partially because he shot up from like 6'4 to 6'10.

Hate to look forward to next year, but the prospect of Davison staying makes it hard with what’s coming in.

quote:Yes he is. You couldn’t find a recruiting profile anywhere on him just a few months ago and now he’s #11 in the country by On3. That’s quite the rise

You know it’s just hard to evaluate Canadians well with the language barrier there like it was with Tua coming out of Hawaii.

6. Alabama Crimson Tide
Despite the up-and-down season Alabama has faced this year, Nate Oats has made a name for himself down in Tuscaloosa. The Crimson Tide finished with a back-to-back top-10 recruiting class, highlighted by five-star wing Brandon Miller, whose father played football for the Tide. Their class doesn’t have much of a drop-off at all frankly, with further additions from Consensus four-stars Jaden Bradley, Rylan Griffen, and Noah Clowney. You also can’t forget about an underrated piece to the puzzle, Nick Pringle, a 6-foot-9 JUCO transfer.

Do you sub to On3? I know their background but haven't really talked to anyone bout how good their content is

No, I don't. Feels like there is enough info out there already without having to pay for it. Pretty much everything related to any form of entertainment requires a monthly subscription service these days which means I already have too many as it is and don't need another one.

Arizona and Texas Tech seem to be the favorites.

It’s crazy that we are in the running for all these top guys for basketball now.
Gotta be happy with our athletic department right now.

Yup, our basketball program has never cast such a wide net and then actually land some trophies. Oats, Hodgson and Pettway are on another level

Dorman's Noah Clowney is quite good
C/F and Alabama commit Noah Clowney is what makes Dorman the best basketball team in the state, says Joe Dandron of the Greenville News

There's a new article on Ja'Kobe Walter from on3 if anyone wants to give us the highlights. From the preview, it sounds like it'll be an Alabama/Auburn battle.

Here is one from 247 if someone can give us the deets.

Walter discussed each program with 247Sports:
quote:
Alabama: “They are a high-class school in terms of football and basketball. I took my visit before basketball season started, so I got to see the football atmosphere. I saw all the fans the program has and I heard that is the same for basketball. I saw how intense their practices were and how the coaches let their players play. I can see myself in their offense.”
Arkansas: “I talk to Eric Musselman almost every day or after every game. Watching them this year, I see them getting better every game. They play hard and I think that is the expectation from the coaches. They always have a crazy atmosphere from the fans and sold-out games. If I ever took a visit, I would want to attend a game for sure.”
Auburn: “They were telling me I could be a part of their future success. Whoever the team feels is their best scorer, they are going to run a lot of their offense through them. Jabari Smith would always get his touches. The coaching staff says I can play in their offense and have a lot of things run through me. The atmosphere at the Kentucky game also stood out.”
Kansas: “I talk to Jeremy Case. Their past success as a blueblood stands out and they have really been good these past couple of years. They put people in the league, so I want to visit to see how the players workout and practice.”
Oregon: “I talk to Chris Crutchfield the most. He tells me he feels I can be an NBA player. I know it is far away from home but they have great facilities and I am interested to see what life would be like if I was over there.
quote:
As of now, Walter is looking at the end of his summer as his ideal time window to make a collegiate decision. A place that will enhance his chances of getting drafted to the NBA will be heavily valued when the time rolls around.
“I probably will make my final decision at the beginning of my senior year or right after summer ball,” Walter said. “I want to go to a place that will develop me because my dream is to go to the NBA. I just want to go to a place that is going to put me in a position to do that.”
The atmosphere is also a factor that Walter will be considering when picking a school. He wants his time in college to be spent with fans who value the sport he plays.
“The school has to have a good fanbase behind them,” Walter added. “I want a lot of support wherever I am at and a big crowd would be fun to play in front of.”
