Just awful. Prayers for his family. They have to be devastated. You never know I guess. The virus just seems to affect everyone so differently. I agree with renaming the student section in his honor. And maybe some kind of pregame deal with his family before the first home game next season.

I vote that after the Coleman renovation we name the front row of the student section Ratliff Row.

Avery’s comments. Luke defended Avery until the end. I respect that loyalty.

Just got off the phone with Alabama coach Nate Oats after hearing the news that Crimson Tide student Luke Ratliff passed away yesterday. Oats is crushed. Ratliff was a huge fan who attended every single game (home and road) and spent a lot of time with the coaching staff. So sad.

Sounds like Oats is taking it pretty hard

Oats has 3 kids, and his oldest daughter has to be close to college age. Finding out a 22 year old who he had gotten to know really well over the last couple of years suddenly died had to hit really close to home. It's just such an awful situation. No one should die that young.

Even in times like these, the Twitter bots would rip that picture for less than 100% mask participation.

Oh there are real life people on Twitter blaming him and whoever else for his death because there are pictures of people without masks. People are truly fricked up.

Truly heartbreaking. That kid loved life and it showed. No one should ever die young and he had so much ahead of him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

RIP Fluff

I have more of a problem with Oats only tying for 3rd for coach of the year

I can't argue with Juwan Howard winning. I think Scott Drew and Nate Oats were more deserving of 2nd than Mark Few. But being the AP poll, I'm not surprised the best team's coach for a lot of votes. But I think it should be more about exceeding expectations. But Oats is in some pretty damn good company with that list. If we were playing today, he'd have been higher, for sure.
