With our OOC opponents, this has to be one of the toughest schedules we've had in a very long time.

After going 10 years between NBA draft picks, Alabama’s about to have its third in four years.

The two-round event is set for Thursday evening and it’s possible for two Crimson Tide players to go in the same draft for the first time since 1995.

Josh Primo is projected to go as early as the late first round as an early exit while Herbert Jones is looking more like a second-round player and John Petty a long-shot to hear his name called Thursday.

For Primo, his stock has steadily risen while impressing in pre-draft events like the combine. He went from a second-rounder to a prospect creeping up first-round mock drafts ahead of the 7 p.m. CT Thursday draft.

He’d be the third first-round pick in four years joining Collin Sexton (8th in 2018) and Kira Lewis (13th in 2020) should he be among the top 30 selections. The last time Alabama had two picks in the same draft was 1995 when Antonio McDyess went No. 2 overall and Jason Caffey was the 20th pick.

I'm going to be very upset if Primo doesn't go in the 1st.

1. Means he should've come back and with our increased strength of schedule, we're going to miss his shooting.

2. 3 first-round picks in 4 years sounds a lot better when recruiting.

Is it my imagination, or do we play Vandy on that terrible court every year?!

Not just your imagination. Since the 2000-2001 season we have played @Vandy 11 times, with this season making it a dozen. We have likely only played @MSU and @Auburn more during that time. I'd imagine it has a lot to do with travel. Nashville is the shortest drive for us outside of Auburn and Starkville.

I am super excited about our schedule, it's full of big games. A lot more exciting than playing a bunch of nobodies.

This is a very random question, but from recently purchasing a new basketball for the first time in a while, it appears that each school uses a different ball depending on their sponsorships. Nike schools like Alabama, for example, use Nike ELITE championship game balls. However, the official NCAA game ball is the Wilson Solution, which is what the NCAA and SEC use in their tournaments. These balls all bounce/feel/play somewhat differently depending on the brand, so do we keep a reserve of each type of ball and switch them out at practice leading up to tournaments or away games against non-Nike teams?

Was on 247 and was reading about sleepers in the upcoming draft, figured yall might be interested

quote:

Why he is a sleeper: Herb Jones, the reigning SEC player of the year, is one of the most versatile prospects in this Draft class who impacts the games on both ends of the court. He's got size, length and athleticism but does have a thin frame that raises some concerns regarding his physical strength to play in the world's best league. However, Jones comes into the Draft as one of the country's top defenders as he also took home the SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors this past season. He can switch on the perimeter, his length and IQ are disruptive off the ball and he is a capable rim protector around the rim. Offensively, Jones fits the mold of a terrific glue-guy as he can facilitate, playmaker, plays within the flow of the offense and can impact the game away from the ball with his shot to space the floor and ability to function in pick-and-pop scenarios. Jones does need to get stronger but he does everything else with his versatility on both ends of the court that has proven to make for successful NBA players.

I have a feeling Herb is going to be one of those guys that most people don't know how he sticks around in the NBA for so long but because of his defense and versatility, he becomes a valuable roster addition.

It would be incredible if he somehow sneaks into the first round. Him just being drafted at all makes me so happy.

Could be another TR Dunn type career in the NBA. Second round draft choice who played for 14 years in the league strictly for his great defense.

If I’m Herb, I’m spending 23 hours a day shooting corner 3s. Bruce Bowen made a living playing great D and hitting the occasional corner 3. More recently, PJ Tucker has perfected the same strategy.

What's crazy is he was shooting 53% from 3-point range through the Vanderbilt game on 2/20, and then went 0-19 from there on out. He was shooting 77% from the FT line through that game as well, only going 60% thereafter. You wonder if he was hurt or something.
