Most mocks I see have Philon getting drafted above Boogie. Would be nice for us this year if that was reversed and Philon came back, but probably better long term recruiting-wise if Philon is drafted in the 1st.
But hopefully Philon comes back and is a lottery pick next year. Yea, I'm greedy like that.

Or Philon can get drafted and Boogie can transfer here. Best of all worlds.

I wonder how he’ll like campus

Philon isn’t ready and can make more money long term by coming back for one more year. That’s clearly the best business decision but will he and his family have the foresight? On a related note, how’s Kira Lewis doing?

It would be cool to get him back. We’ll need him more this year than we would’ve last year so it was like a loan to Kansas and it’s always nice to have guys want to come back.

My prediction right now is we finish our roster with
Rylan
1 of Philon/Coward
Bristow

Not nearly as wealthy as he could have been had he allowed CNO to develop him for another year. First round picks are good for a program’s reputation but busts are also bad for it.

If he isn’t developing in the nba then he wasn’t going to magically become a better nba player by staying another year in college.
If you get a lottery type grade then you go and hope you land in a good situation. There was also no NiL back then. He made the right call.

Curious if it’s an either/or situation for Rylan and Coward or if Nate would take both if they wanted to come.
Posted on 4/24/25 at 6:59 pm to Bryant91092
I would think both. Coward can play 4 or 3. Rylan can play 3 or 2(not that we need more 2s).
Wrightsell is also just a huge question mark. Long wings who are athletic, can defend, and shoot pretty well are pretty plug and playable. Take em both and if Rylan gets mad about minutes he can transfer again

Why the hell would he need to visit?
To meet team members he doesn’t know and to talk business with Oats and Murphy.

You mean former lottery pick Kira Lewis? He's in the g League still.
He's also earned $17 million in 4 years. Dude is living pretty good, even if he never gets back to the pros. He definitely made the right pick for his future by entering the draft and being a lottery pick.

Please, explain how that's possible? He got drafted on with and potential. To move up from #13 overall pick isn't easy.
Now if you had said JD, you might be correct about that. But Kira?

Coward only played 6 games, but he did average 7rpg, so you may be right about him at the 3 or 4.
I personally love Rylan at the 2 guard spot. I want long guards for defensive purposes. It's why I didn't like Wrightsell playing the 3 spot defensively. At his size, he's a guard that plays with a wings offensive skill set.

If someone offered me 17 million over 4 years, I would at the very least be willing to give up both pinky fingers and a toe or 2 and I'm 50 years old. Suffice to say, I still have all appendages and a shitty salary.

I’m 72 and can affirm that you are right.

Well, we’ve hit the “I’d disfigure my body by doing XXXX for an amount of money equal to YYYY” part of the CBB offseason.
It’s a little dark and too early in the offseason for my tastes, but hey, it’s a long offseason. Kind of ironic that one of the more knowledgeable and reasonable posters on this board brought it up. Hope your weekend is pleasant GTRuss! You’re good peeps!

Are these getting removed with lopping shears or something? And do you know how needed pinkies and especially little toes are?
George Wilson UA 92 championship team blew off one of his little toes with a shotgun, and they had to do a lot of reconstruction building a big mound of flesh where it once was in order for him to be able to walk.
