We are such garbage in closing minutes... Why don't we run the clock? Why the stupid passes?

Please keep Rick Pitino and St. John's away from our side of the bracket.

BYU also looks like a team that I want no part of. They can score in bunches. Play physical and have an attitude.

St John’s the team doesn’t scare me but I think Oats respects Pitino to a fault and he has coached scared against him both times.

Rick Pitino in a one game scenario will always scare me. Stay away.

Any of y’all watching the Indiana Purdue game? Indiana has flipped a switch to start the 2nd half. If they always played like this, they’d be a damn good team

I say all that to say Purdue probably still wins by 7+

I watched them last night until I fell asleep. It's hard to tell what Arizona is exactly, but to put them down on their home court is still impressive.

BYU can drain threes and that is one thing that can help a team go far in the tournament if they get hot at the right moment. They absolutely annihilated Kansas mid week. I just looked and they are not ranked. How that is I will not understand because they are definitely top 25 level. Maybe top 15-20. In a one game scenario, they could easily beat a higher seeded opponent.

Think you missed his point on this one (along with all the downvoters). Literally the only way to lose the game at the point he made the comment was for Bama to force a shot early in the shot clock (or turn it over early).

Literally hold the ball on offense and make a couple FTs, and it’s virtually impossible to lose a game up 9 points with 2:14 to go when you just got possession. Mark Sears threw a nearly full court pass a couple seconds into the shot clock for a TO in that situation. He did the one and only thing that could actually get us beat at that point in the game. It was one of the lowest basketball IQ plays of the whole season.

Fortunately, he got a steal and drained a 3 right after that…but that doesn’t take away how stupid it is to not run clock and force them to foul you when your up 9 and just got possession of the ball with 2:14 left. That’s really bad coaching, decision making, and adds to some of the bad late game/half possessions this season. We don’t play smart, fundamental basketball when the clock is a key factor.

Hoping Nate just likes allowing the freedom and then using it as a teaching moment in the regular season when an end of game collapse wouldn’t have dire consequences, but if that decision making happens in the NCAAT…I will be screaming at the TV or in the stands because even good high-school teams know how and when to kill clock at the end.

Edit: For you math guys, 2:14 is no more than 4 possessions each unless they start fouling (and that assumes they shoot within a few seconds each trip down the floor). They would have to score 9 points on 4 possessions and we would have to score 0 on 4 possessions for them to just tie it. If we start running our offense with about 7-10 seconds on the shot clock and not give up open 3 pointers on D, the statistical probability of them coming back is very, very low.

We ran clock down until the last two threes. We do sometimes not stop running fast though. We were better yesterday.

I know it's probably just emotional ignorance bleeding through, but im starting to kind of want UConn. They have ended our two deepest runs in history and I would really like to see us send Dan Hurley packing with fumes coming out of his ears.
