Oats is becoming the Saban of basketball recruiting

We have apparently been getting the similar NIL discount.

obviously football is king.

There was a article I read awhile back about how schools are changing the NIL direction to teams with smaller squads to being a powerhouse in that sport. Talked about how teams now have a 1 year team and so on...

It helps when you do your own scouting, instead of looking at rankings from a journalism major that hasn't shot a ball since high school. Oats has a damn good eye. If the "recruiting experts" were really elite at scouting, they'd get hired for way more money by a school or pro team.

This x10. These scouting sites are a joke for the most part. For me when I recommend a kid to a college coach, the very first thing I do is watch the foot/feet/work. A bunch of these kids rely too much on their athletic ability and have no fundamentals. I blame AAU for this. I've watched several top basketball players but they can't dribble with their left hand and/or know how to do a left handed layup the correct way.

This is my rant. Carry on.

He’s set to announce Saturday. I saw Tipton put in a prediction for us. That’d be awesome.

What bridge is that that he's standing next to? Isn't that the Golden Gate? Hard to see with my aging eyes. I love how Preston does scavenger hunts.

Definitely looks more like it than Tower Bridge.

It's Golden Gate. I just think he's using it because it's the most well-known bridge in the country. London Bridge is Falling Down reference.

I’m ashamed I didn’t get that reference. I just thought it was a bridge for the sake of building something

I'm going to pick a bone and say he should have used the London Bridge. Golden Gate should only be used for a Bay Area recruit.

Well to be fair that is a crazy stretch for ole Preston. Theres so many things that would’ve made more sense than a bridge in San Francisco for London. It’s no Clifford the Big Red Dog

There’s also a compass pointing west it looks like. I feel like I’m in a fricking escape room

Yeah but London Bridge is very non descript. It just looks like a bridge. The bridge everyone thinks is London Bridge is Tower Bridge.

As a matter of fact a previous incarnation of London Bridge was sold to a business man in Lake Havasu, AZ. They believe he thought he was getting the Tower Bridge but just got a normal looking arse bridge for all his money and trouble moving it.

That was my initial thought, but I might be reaching knowing there's a decision around the corner. The compass pointing SW is strange though. Only other person I could think of is Brayden Burries who lives right outside of LA (and maybe Preston struggles with geography). I haven't heard much with us and him, but his recruitment has been strangely quiet for a top 10 prospect.

London Jemison?

I don’t see him listed on the list of targets on the first page.
Who is he?

I am no longer concerned in any way with basketball recruiting. I keep up just to stay informed, but I am very confident that most of whoever we end up with will be pretty good players at worst. First time I have ever felt that way.
