Those Ticketmaster fees are ridiculous. Ended up getting 4 in section 305. Really just wanted to be able to see the benches

Pretty cool to have this much demand for an exhibition game. I hope everyone will be healthy and able to play and not sitting out like some did against Wake Forest last year.

It's also cool that since it's an exhibition game I will get to see more players play than I would during the regular season.

I went to the game at South Alabama a couple years ago. It was Brick City for both teams with those tight rims. But we still killed them, and opened up the bench. That's the only good thing about playing cupcakes.

Travis Branham put in a prediction on jasper johnson to Kentucky.
I kinda figured with him being a legacy and hometown kid they'd eventually drop a absurd bag to keep him in state. It's a damn shame, because he would've fit us like a glove. Still technically not over. But we'll still get good players in the end. Hell, overall the portal has been very kind to us.

What do you know, turns out I was on point...
Here's the rest of the nuggets...
-Per sources the AJ Dybantsa - Utah Prep School - Small Forward (on3.com) situation is going to be similar. Which makes sense because he's a monster, across the board No. 1 prospect. The discussion of BYU and their NIL offer is legit. They won't be the only school chasing him. Very talented guy but again each school has to draw their own line and factor what it means to them overall. Dybantsa is going to have some big time offers. Again, not surprising. But the NIL numbers we are hearing are substantial. This one still has to play itself out.
-In more encouraging news UA is still heavy in the mix for Mikel Brown Jr. - DME Academy - Point Guard (on3.com). There will be an intense battle here, but Alabama is holding its own. Louisville is one we hear a lot of talk about but a source told BOL on Friday that they believe Bama holds the advantage for him right now. NOT a done deal by any means but still in the picture and doing a good job.
A couple guys to keep an eye on.
-National top 20 guard Darius Adams - Recruiting Profile (on3.com) is set to visit Tuscaloosa in September. Communcation with the Tide staff has been good up to this point. He has six official visits set up and we are told those visits will go a long way in determining where he ends up. We do know people close to Adams love the style of play and Oats as a coach.
-Not to be outdone on the officials Davion Hannah - Recruiting Profile (on3.com) has eight planned with Bama taking place next weekend (8/31). Similar situation to Adams where the staff has been recruiting him and getting him on campus is the chance to really make their push. So far, the feedback has been positive.
There are other targets as well, but Adams and Hannah are two worth mentioning at this stage after talking to sources this week.
Here are some of the upcoming Alabama official basketball visits that are scheduled. As always, they are subject to change with additions and subtractions possible.
August 30/31
Top 80 small forward: Amari Allen - Recruiting Profile (on3.com)
Top 50 center: Jaden Toombs - Dynamic Prep - Center (on3.com)
Top 30 combo guard: Davion Hannah - Link Academy - Combo Guard (on3.com)
September 6/7
Top 25 shooting guard: Hudson Greer - Montverde Academy - Shooting Guard (on3.com)
Top 5 power forward: Caleb Wilson - Holy Innocents Episcopal School - Power Forward (on3.com)
Top 40 power forward: London Jemison - St. Thomas More - Power Forward (on3.com)
September 27
Nation's No. 1 player: AJ Dybantsa - Utah Prep School - Small Forward (on3.com)
Top 20 shooting guard: Darius Adams - La Lumiere School - Shooting Guard (on3.com)
October 12
Top 60 small forward: Cam Ward - Largo - Small Forward (on3.com)

-Bama knew if it came down to an NIL decision that they weren't likely to land Jasper Johnson - Overtime Elite - Shooting Guard (on3.com). Alabama isn't going to be the top offer the majority of the time, as Oats has proven the last few years. UK is all in on Johnson and I agree with @Joe Tipton that right now UA is on the outside looking in. Every college coach/ program has to pretty much draw the line at some point. This isn't knock on UK, it's the smart play if you are trailing (which they were). They are doing what they need to do to land a guy they feel they must have and the fact he is a local kid and deciding early helped them make this decision.

I say we take Jaspers NiL and give it to Dybantsa so that I don’t have to eat a Mormon Bible

They had to offer a Kid from Lexington Kentucky whose dad played football at UK 2x the amount of NIL Bama offered just to beat out Nate Oats.

Problem is that he's probably gonna cost more then this year's entire team. But he's the most hyped recruit in the last decade. So it could get crazy.

Arkansas adds baylor in Dallas on nov 9th.

I'd say that's Flagg or Zion, but it's close.

Flagg didn't have the buzz of the Ball Brothers or Zion.
He kind a snuck up on me. He's good and extremely athletic though. Great basketball IQ!
