That shows the "character" of the young men in this program chad.... Unfortunately we have some who in another thread that imply there "may" be character issues or selfishness on the team

cbs.sports not optimistic about our chances Friday

Top 2022 March Madness bracket picks
One team set to disrupt 2022 March Madness brackets, according to the model: No. 6 Alabama suffers a defeat in the first round in the West Region. Alabama will face either Rutgers or Notre Dame, the play-in 11-seeds.

Over the last five years, No. 11 seeds are 11-9 against No. 6 seeds in the NCAA Tournament bracket. That doesn't bode well for Alabama, which enters the March Madness bracket 2022 as one of the worst defensive teams in the country. In fact, the Crimson Tide are giving up 76.4 points per game on average, which ranks 318th. SportsLine's model expects Alabama's shortcomings on defense will have the Crimson Tide packing their bags early in the 2022 NCAA basketball bracket.

I don't really blame them but I was kinda surprised that every bracket I looked at or region breakdown I watched, basically no one had Alabama winning the first round. Thought that was a bit extreme.

Maybe it will light a fire under the team’s asses.

Would be nice to get to the weekend games at least.

That was a wonderful and truly inspirational Max EFFORT video. May God continue to work miracles in everybody's lives especially that young man.

Always positive energy!!

I dont understand what makes them think notre dame or rutgers will hold us under 80. Neither of those teams are elite offensively or defensively either. Yeah hopefully it does light a fire under our guys

I just want to to see guys giving it everything that they got and playing as freely as possible with confidence.

Btw if we are clicking...nobody will hold us under that number.

It's not really "truths" they're handing out. We're bad defensively, but we're not one of the worst in the nation that they imply we are. Listing the PPG we give up to back that statement shows how really novice those guys are. With a team that runs the pace that we do, we're bound to give up a lot of points.

Yeah high pace creates more possessions and very few teams would want to match our tempo

You are not entirely wrong. Points per possession and points allowed per opponent possession are more valid metrics that take into account pace of play. Still, Alabama is not a good defensive team either. They have a lot of deficiencies on that side of the ball that are exacerbated when they aren’t making shots.

Since January 1st away from home we're 226th in the country defensively.

The only teams worse in this tournament are #16 Bryant, #16 Colgate, #10 Davidson, #16 Norfolk St, #13 South Dakota St and #16 Wright State. So basically the four 16 seeds, Davidson and South Dakota State.

We've been horrid.

Absolutely love that video! It’s always good to get a reminder of the human side of sports, and these are such great stories (loved to hear the story during SECT about VolNation taking care of their guard’s family who lost a home due to fire).

This team has still accomplished a lot and I hope they come out and play hard/together. Would be great to see these guys gain confidence and win at least 1 in the Tourney.

On another topic, I just finished taking the ColorCodes personality profile for a conference this weekend and it dawned on me that our team has virtually no Reds on it. Rojas and maybe Gurley would be the only 2, but definitely none of the guards are Reds. This is just another way to visualize the leadership gap we all see, but I hope Oats realizes you can’t have a team full of Whites (peacemakers), Blues (“do-gooders” or relationship peeps), and Yellows (fun lovers) without enough Reds (power wielders) to lead - especially at the guard position. Hopefully he leverages analytics and any one of the 1000 personality profiling systems to evaluate what an ideal blend of strengths is for a successful team (or at least minimum requirements). Just my opinion, but we need at least 1 of our starting guards/SF (positions 1-3) to be a Red.

Here’s a brief description of the 4 colors if anyone’s interested.

I gotta believe that we will give max effort at least on Friday. This team has played hard when their backs were against the wall.

Kind of like our football team this season.

I hate to tell you this. But these are all bullshite. Absolute bullshite. You should read up on the origins of personality tests. At this point, a self-perpetuating, pseudo-science based, industry has manifested itself around them.

Lol…I somewhat agree. I’ve had to do several of these over the years for various leadership or development activities, and some are definitely better than others.

Regardless of whether you believe the science or the “natural” vs “learned” behavior, it’s pretty obvious that by college you can tell who tends to be an outspoken leader vs. other modes of operation when in a group/team setting. And we need a couple more of those types on next year’s team!!

My favorite time of the year, the next 6 days. MARCH MADNESS!

We're not getting beat by either of those losers on Friday!!
