On the bright side, I’d actually rather be a 6 seed in the NCAAT than a 5 anyway, although we’re trending toward a 7 at this point. The 3 seeds are typically beatable if you don’t have a bad matchup issue. With some luck of the 2 seed getting upset, you could play an 11, 3, and 7 to get to the elite 8. Even if we play a 2, they aren’t all scary (Baylor, Houston, loser of Kentucky/AU but they won’t be in our bracket).
Chances are, we exit early. But I’ll channel Jim Carrey and naively believe there’s a 1:1,000,000 shot we make the final four. “So you’re saying there’s a chance!”

Top 10 college football, basketball coaching duos for 2022 (247sports.com)
1. NICK SABAN & NATE OATS, ALABAMA
Saban is no doubt one of the greatest coaches of all time, owning a 183-25 record as head coach of the Crimson Tide. In the last seven years, Saban has appeared with Alabama in the college football playoff six times, winning three of them. His legacy is certainly set in stone in terms of being one of the greatest college coaches ever. His counterpart on the basketball team, Nate Oats, has been with Alabama for three seasons and has seen great success. Oats is 61-33 and is set to make his second straight NCAA Tournament as head coach of the Crimson Tide.

Safe to say that Holt is probably portal bound then. Gotta love a late season Alabama basketball implosion. As is tradition.

Yes - ‘tik toking’ during the game most likely doesn’t help to get him back in good standing with Coach Oats.

Most college players aspire to play at the next level at some point of their college careers. Most if not all were studs at their HS BB teams.
Is Oats doing a disserve to their development by not letting them work on a mid range jump shot. I have watched all levels of BB and the mid range shot is huge. Especially for the bigs who get it at the elbow and pop.
So you xperts are telling me that Jones was this big of a difference form last year to this years team. No wonder he brought the ball up on many offensive series

He doesn't tell them not to work on it lol...Every player should work on scoring in a variety of ways period in order too make it to the next level and if their not then that's on them.

JQ, Shack, Gary, & Miles...JD is a freshman who can be developed! He's still raw but has a ton of upside. He doesn't necessarily have the right pieces around him to be successful game in and game out.

they are encouraged not to shot mid range jumpers and you think Oats says you practice those on your own?

You mean the mid-range shots the NBA has been gradually taking fewer and fewer of as 3pt attempts have skyrocketed?

If Bama plays a little once of defense and rebound then we will win the game.
Kentucky is not impressive at all.
We just got to SACK (VETERANS) up!

Here..here!
Josey and I are worried about the same problem next year. It looks like Oats is gonna have to go to the portal for some leadership help. I don't see any alphas with basketball I.Q. on the roster right now.

I kind’ve agree honestly. They’re a solid squad, but not terrifying or anything.

Disagree. They have guards we can’t keep in front of us and the big guy is a big time matchup problem down low. Would rather have been a 5 and play Arkansas.
And all of this is assuming we beat Vandy, which depending on the level of defensive effort that shows up, is no sure bet at all.

A top 5 team is not impressive at all? Good lord

I hope Memphis moves up to at least a 10. I’m scared of us getting matched up with them if they stay an 11

Does Bama go after Sky Clark who decommitted from KY
