Florida may have saved their season in the last 15 seconds vs Vandy

Pippen flopping to get to the line down 2 at the end of this Vandy-Florida game and then missing the first FT brings me great joy.

He also flailed looking for a foul when they threw the ball out of bounds trying to inbound on the possession before. I wanted Vandy to win but loved seeing that.

Yeah, I saw that one too. I'm sure there were more, but I've mostly been watching this Purdue-Wisconsin game. I just can't stand guys who play that way. It's really effective but it also violates the spirit of the game and shouldn't be rewarded. If anything doing crap like that should get guys T'd up.

And speaking of Purdue-Wisconsin, every time I watch one of these games between two top B1G teams I'm reminded of why I think they get roasted in the tournament so often despite always getting 8+ bids. They play basketball the way hockey players fight. One hand holding each other up while punching each other in the face with the other. But if they run into someone who isn't willing to do that they struggle to adapt.

If we play sloppy and turn the ball over 20 fricking times, those teams will beat our arse.

I dont think those teams could keep up with our speed at all. They play a dinosaur brand of basketball

I agree they can't keep up with us. But if we turn the ball over a bunch and we can't get TOs on the defensive end, they will slow play us to death.

Just about any tournament quality team is going to kick your arse if you turn the ball over 20+ times. Ball security and defense will very likely be our ultimate downfall because they're the two things we struggle with the most, but my comment had nothing to do with our team. Just the fact that every B1G game I watch feels like the teams stay the same and the uniforms change. They're kind of reminiscent of a bunch of old school Big East teams, but in 2022 instead of 2002. And I'm just not sure that style is going to get you to a championship in modern basketball.

Ala can clinch the #5 seed tonight with a win over Aggie, an MSU loss to Aub and an LSU loss at Ark.

assuming the results above:
Ala 10-7
Fla 9-8
SCar 9-8
LSU 8-9
MSU 8-9

assuming the results above and an Ala loss Sat with Fla and/or SCar winning:
Ala would win an Ala/Fla tiebreaker
Ala would win an Ala/SCar tiebreaker
Ala would win an Ala/Fla/SCar tiebreaker

someone check my math :)

As a 5 seed, we’d play the winner of Ole Miss/Missouri, then the 4 seed (likely Arky or UT)

That's sort of odd. Mo has not had a good start at Alabama St. He's 11-34 over the last 2 seasons.

He's won one game out of conference in that span.

Since we're capable of beating the best in the country and losing to the worst in the conference, it's a total crap shoot now on what is a good seed for the SECT.

I think getting Aub the way they are playing currently is our best bet. Although, I'd hate to lose to them 3x.
