It really is weird that they’re one program we’ve been able to beat after losing 100 in a row against them.

They said on the broadcast Bama is the only school to ever beat them 5 times in a row

What can you say? We’ve just had their number. They should curb stomp Alabama but we just found a way to beat them.

Alabama Women's Basketball Has Strong Showing to Upset No. 12 Tennessee, 74-64

Alabama played a complete game on both ends of the floor to take down the Lady Volunteers.

Bediako Impresses me. Highly intelligent. But I also sense there are some leadership tendencies there that will pay dividends in a couple of years. He'll be here for a while and we can build around him.

He'll end up pretty formidable on the inside

He will get stronger and be really hard for teams to handle on defense. But offensively he's a complimentary piece until he develops some sort of post moves. Right now he's good at dunking but that's about the extent of his scoring prowess. That ability relies on having a teammate who can penetrate well enough to draw the defensive help. He also does some pick and roll stuff but it's usually looking for an alley opp. We've been fortunate to have PGs who are great at doing the stuff to compliment his game. I do think in the future he will be able to shoot well enough to keep defenses honest. But for now, just keep dunking on everybody.

If we finish the regular season 3-2 and then win 1 in the SEC tourney, any chance we slide up and grab a 4 seed?

I would imagine a win either at Kentucky or at LSU will be necessary to grab a 4 seed (if we don't beat another top SEC team in SEC tourney.)

However, our resume is so unusual that there's not much precedent for exactly how the committee will seed it.

where do most kentucky fans talk hoops online?

Kentucky series 115-40
split the last 6

Odd series notes:
we won the first 3 of 4 in the series

from '43 to '63, we just won one time...but by 25 points in Montgomery. 1-23.

Rupp Rafters is their massive basketball forum (Rivals)

A lot of good reads and quality posters/bball fans

And a lot of bandwagons lmao (as to be expected when you’re a historical blue blood)

At one point there were a lot of threads from them wanting to go after Oats if they fired Cal after last year.

I was at that game at the Cow Palace in Montgomery. The Rocket-8 of Alabama dropped over 100 points on Rupp/Kentucky that night. Kentucky had the 1st team all-american center (Bob Burroughs) and Alabama/Johnny Dee had Jerry "Moose" Harper at center...and Moose destroyed Burroughs that night.
My strongest memory of the game was seeing Rupp, when Alabama hit the century mark, just putting his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands...and not looking up!
It was the first time ANY team have ever scored 100 points on Kentucky/Rupp!

seems like a tougher first round game than you'd like for a #5 seed. Of course, they'd be flying west from Dayton with less than a day to play. It's going to be hilarious if we play Duke and Oats has for answer to his 'Coach K not wanting to play' comments from last year.

I didn't know I wanted something as much as this now. Having the opportunity for Oats to knock out Coach K in his final game would be pretty amazing after what happened last year.

Ken fans online are all saying if we don't make 15 3's we have no chance. Evidently, their D was why we went 3-30 too. Not sure I buy that.

I guess missing wide open 3’s is because of Kentucky’s good defense???
