People say JD can't shoot but his shot mechanics doesn't say that. What it says is that he needs to continue working muscle memory. He's always in the gym working on his shooting so in time he will be more consistent.

I like how HE wanted to close the game out when he called for the ball. Shack just had made like 4 straight free throws but JD wanted to close the game.

It's only a MATTER OF TIME.

I take it as he came in Raw because he just started playing basketball 2 years before he got here. He tore his Achilles so that pushed his development back a year. So this is really he first year he has had a chance to develop.

He's apparently over the top lazy too. One of those last to make it to the gym and the first to leave types, which is a total non-starter for a player that raw and inexperienced.

Tchikou's poor work ethic has been talked about for a long time here and elsewhere. Even beat writers have talked about it. He likely won't be here next year. He's just a bust. It is what it is.

Nah. Never heard Nate say that ever. If you can show me where Nate Oats or any other coach has said that then I would be like okay that's facts but so far...

All assumptions with no FACTS.

Dudes a TEENAGER so stop making up false narratives.

So your position is that a scholarship player who has logged 5 minutes all season can't possibly just be lazy because his coach has only acted like he's less worthy of minutes than walk-ons instead of actually saying it?

Edit: In other words, he sucks and we can forget him being here next year lol he’s a waste of a scholarship rn

I had so much hope for him as a player but that’s pretty much what I read in a basketball group I’m in as well.

My position is this...you (Robot) have no clue what's going on nor why he isn't getting playing time so therefore let's just spew false crap so you can get a laugh or a like out of it.

It's crazy how you claimed there's reports about a TEENAGER who's supposedly LAZY with piss poor work ethic in practice but I have yet to see you post a link or anything for that matter to prove that point.

When you speak on something or somebody just back it up with FACTS.

Tchikou just needs development & experience. He lost some of his explosiveness after his injury so hopefully that will continue to come back. He has the talent just raw though and he has a really good trainer who stays in his ear so hopefully they will get him where he needs to be because when I watched him go at Isaiah Todd in high school shoot I was impressed. He defended him well and put on a show offensively.

Whether it's here or at another school I just hope Tchikou can get back too what I pictured him becoming and that's a big who can do just about anything.

He's a scholarship player. He is a former top 50-60 recruit who had scholarship offers from dozens of major programs. He has logged 5 minutes all season. A walk-on has gotten into games before he has. Those are all facts. Or if it's easier for you to understand, FACTS. It's really not that difficult to piece together. I'm not going to spend an hour going around and looking up old message board posts from people, writers, mods, etc. included, talking about how awful and lazy he has been. You'd just accuse them of making shite up too since they aren't actually on the staff.

If he is as bad as some posters claim, then that's on the coaching staff for a missed evaluation.

On a different note, does anybody know what's up with KAH? Is he hurt? I generally prefer him over Rojas (although I will give Rojas a little bit of credit for last night).

I was wondering the same thing. I don't know what's going with KAH. I could of swore I saw him getting ready to check in yesterday but he never did.

Pivot from what you stupid jackass? Someone asked why he isn't playing. I responded with what I have seen said about why he isn't playing. Someone else, literally in this thread like two pages ago, said that it's because he's awful and will transfer out after tthis year. I've seen beat writers say this stuff. Given his complete lack of playing time outside of the final seconds of blowouts it makes sense. I'm sorry that you get asshurt like a little bitch just because someone made a statement about a player that isn't the homer bullshite full of RANDOM Capitalizations you constantly SPEW.

I don’t know quite know what to make of the Tchikou situation, but it’s not like this staff (that I think has done a great job overall) isn’t capable of a misevaluation.

For example, this staff’s record with grad transfer/transfer portal guys is extremely sketchy outside of Bruner. I’m not counting Burnett here - obviously a different set of circumstances.

The KAH situation is more straightforward than Tchikou’s. I like him and wish he’d play a bit more, but the staff (who knows far more than I do and obviously watch practices) clearly disagrees.

The strangest thing about KAH is that he played more last year, it seems. And this year we need guys at his position more than last year. Jusuan Holt is playing more than KAH lately.

How has he not developed at all? He's got good hops and decent size. We just need him to rebound and pass thr ball to open guys. Why is that so difficult?

I've heard it is more his understanding what to do, especially on defense. For example, last night, we went to an all guard line up (Miles, like Herb last year, at "center")and switched constantly on D to stay in front of their guards who were somehow draining threes. Oats said post game that the "switching won the game." KAH may not be able to do that yet. I've wanted to see him too because he is strong, can rebound, and has a shot or two near the basket. Hope he stays with the program. He is the kind of big man who can play our style.
