That was Bama's strategy going into tonight's game. It seems like this team has some kind of attitude problem. I think they are a little full of themselves, but I can't understand why at this point.

They are still living off that run in December whenthey beat Gonzaga and Houston but if they don’t get their head out of their arse, that’s going to get them a 1 seed in the NIT. I love the talent and potential of this team but the attitude and personality stinks like a steaming pile of shite.

So is Mizzou. We aren't going to have any easy wins this year. These guys don't have it in them to come out of the gate playing hard. They have to sense that the game is about to get away from them before they find any fricks to give.

Maybe we should start Rojas and let him play until the first media timeout to see if that sets a tone? I was hoping the Davison for JQ switch would do something but he doesn’t have that dog in him either.

I agree with you, and as a competitor, I don’t understand the mindset. I do not understand it. I damn sure don’t respect it. Glad we won though

That's the biggest problem on this team. We don't have that dog. Herb Jones became that guy. Collin Sexton showed up being that guy. We need somebody that gets the other guys fired up. I think the closest thing we have is Juwan Gary. Rojas is something I can't describe but it's not the missing link.

At this point I'm not going to say anything is a bad idea. Rojas is one of the only dogs on this team though, so he has earned a start against UGA. I really don't understand what their problem is. It's not a talent thing or a scheme thing though. Honestly I almost wonder if it's a product of the staff telling them "the shots will start to fall" to keep them from pressing too much and their takeaway from that being that they don't need any sense of urgency.

What is going on with Tchikou that he can't get some PT at this point?
Biggest player we have and can't play before Britton Johnson? And he's on scholarship?
Someone here is bound to know why, because he has to either be hurt ineligible or a total stiff.

Game-Ending Run Lifts the Alabama’s Men’s Basketball Team to an 86-76 Victory over Missouri
The Crimson Tide ended the contest on a 30-9 run over the final 10-plus minutes to claim the 10-point win
Head Coach Nate Oats Postgame Comments
"Well, needed that win. We didn't play very well to start the game, but we did show some resilience and fight to figure out a way to fight back. It seems Missouri has their best shooting games against us every time we play them. This time, we kept competing and figured out a way to play hard and turn them over, especially down the stretch. They only had five turnovers late in the game after a media timeout if I remember right. I think we doubled their turnovers in the last eight minutes of the game. We just we need to turn the pressure up, which we did, so I give our guys a ton of credit. I think we ended the game on a 30-9 run. Those guys that were in – Quinerly really got up into them. Shack, Keon Ellis – those guys forced some turnovers which kind of turned the game around. I thought (James) Rojas played really well. He got three tip-ins, took the charge and brought us some energy we needed. We have to figure out ways to start games with better energy no matter who we are playing."

Maybe it’s just a coincidence but the guys who play the hardest are the non heralded players
Posted on 1/22/22 at 9:23 pm to phil4bama
There's no attitude or anything of that nature. This is what I call a learning experience. Nick Saban always speaks on how difficult it is to repeat as champions and we are seeing it right now. We got Mizzou's best game and we still beat them. If the TEAM had an attitude problem we most definitely wouldn't have won the game.
We don't have a true LEADER but I like the direction we are headed and hopefully we have somebody to lead by example.

It's a couple of guys that I thought brought GREAT ENERGY all game and they were...Britton Johnson, Jusuan Holt, & Darius Miles. Give them all the HARD HAT!

quote:Leading up to the season all I heard was Tchikou looked like absolute garbage in practice but I was hoping once he got some PT he’d look decent. Then he played in a couple early seasons games and looked horrible. Not to mention he went and played in that celeb tourney and that was illegal and pissed off the staff. Think it’s just a combination of him being a terrible basketball player and not doing what it takes in practice, etc.

Edit: In other words, he sucks and we can forget him being here next year lol he’s a waste of a scholarship rn

He had a couple of shoot around videos that looked good preseason … had me fooled

I'm a little stunned at that assessment of Tchikou. You recruited a guy for that long only to get him on campus and find out he's hot garbage? Yet he's good enough to play in an international tournament in the summer? Something just doesn't add up there. There's got to be more to the story.

I take it as he came in Raw because he just started playing basketball 2 years before he got here. He tore his Achilles so that pushed his development back a year. So this is really he first year he has had a chance to develop.
I don’t think he will be back. I think Oats will process him and try to find more shooting in the portal.
