Stats for tonight
Over the last 2 seasons, Alabama is 8-2 vs Top 50 Opponents when the two following things happen:
- Hold opponent under 1.05 Points Per Possession
- Shoot 45.0% eFG% or better (eFG% = (2PT)+(3P FG +0.5)/FGA (basically, showing the true FG when weighting 3PT shots more)
For #1, LSU's PPP games so far in SEC play
- 0.73 @ Auburn
- 0.91 vs Kentucky
- 1.11 vs Tennessee
- 0.97 @ Florida
- 0.84 @ Arkansas
In fact, they've been held below 1.00 PPP against every Top 150 opponent they've played other than Tennessee since December 1st (Ohio, GT, La Tech, Auburn, Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas). So, while our defense stinks, LSU has struggled to hit that 1.00 mark against basically everyone who isn't terrible - and without Pinson they've been even worse.
As far as shooting 45.0% or better, LSU has been very good against that
- Auburn - 50.0%
- Kentucky - 43.1%
- Tennessee - 44.9%
- Florida - 42.7%
- Arkansas - 46.4%
An average of 45.4%
As for us, we've done the following in SEC play
- Tennessee - 49.2%
- Florida - 46.5%
- Missouri - 56.0%
- Auburn - 40.2%
- Mississippi St - 46.4%
An average of 47.7%
So, I dunno, honestly if we both play our normal game I think we have a decent shot to win. If we shoot the ball relatively well from deep I think we have a very good chance to win.

So we are shooting 28% from 3PT (bad) and are 7% under D1 average shooting at the rim (bad).

Yeah I wouldn’t be shocked either way at all. I hate that Pinson comes back right when they play us. If it’s a close game at the end he’s a steady guard that can get you a bucket.

I hope they win tonight but based on recent performance I just can't bring myself to watch. Maybe me not watching will be what brings the win.

This is why we can’t keep an elite coach. Pathetic showing

I mean, the most successful coach in program history was here for 3 decades, with the final 12 years of that as HC. Subsequently it has been resigned, fired, fired, fired, currently employed.
