How y’all think we deal with Castleton?

I feel like if we stop him we will win. I think we did a pretty good job on him last year

I didn't look up his stats so I appreciate being called out for that but Morant was labeled as a person who couldn't shoot from the outside. He did end up having a great year! He had big games vs Auburn & Us

He shot 29% from 3 as a freshman but Morant improved dramatically his sophomore year.

He's probably the one guy that I wished we had! He is super skilled and a very good player. I look for us to double team him on the post catch.

The oddest thing about JD is that he's clearly an explosive leaper with size, but he hasn't really shown an explosive first step or handle to consistently take his man (which could be due to him deferring or why he is).

Either way, I don't see this lack of aggression lasting all year.

It’s been a bit surprising to me that guys don’t seem to struggle staying in front of JD. His strength is really his biggest asset in getting to the basket (finishing through contact, etc.), not his quickness or his handle.

It doesn’t help that teams can play off him because they don’t respect his 3 point shot.

His passing feel (turnovers notwithstanding) is better than I expected, but I don’t do much YouTube scouting.

I think he made big time plays for us on offense when needed sometimes last season. There will be a lot of intangibles Rojas could bring to the table for this team with the main one being EXPERIENCE. If Rojas is near 90-100 percent then all these offensive rebounds we give up will stop because he's going to send people flying out of there. He might get fouls called but I guarantee you that we won't be CHARMIN SOFT.

He might be terrible in every aspect of basketball, but he's tough doing it, amirite?

Agree. It's odd to me because I feel like he is a pretty good FT shooter so you would think he would be a little better from 3. In fact, I would almost rather see him go to the line late than JQ.

I think he has potential to be a good 3pt shooter. He's one of those guys that could get to the rim and finish his whole high school career and he liked doing that. So, he probably never worked on his long range shooting enough to be confident in it. I think he'll come around eventually, although he may not be at Bama long enough for it to happen here.

I think his biggest issue right now is him deferring to the other guys too much. He's shooting at a remarkable 65% clip from 2 which is unheard of for a guard. He needs to stop looking for everyone else when he drives and look for his own shot. That would solve most of his TO issues by itself.

Totally agree. Great point. He needs to be a bit more selfish.

Completely disagree. Our offense is predicated on the drive and kick. If the lanes weren’t clogged he’d have easier reads. When he’s in the NBA next year and has all the spacing in the world you people will see.

He is not terrible. You might not like him but what I am posting on here about Rojas is true. Go check Nate Oats recent comments on him.

That's understandable and I do think the lanes are clogged at times but JD needs to start looking for his when we need his scoring.

I mean we don’t want him jacking up bullshite. When JD is in the game there cannot be a Gary/Bediako front court to keep the opposing bigs in the paint shutting off all of what JD does best. JD running point in our 5 out offense where he can drive and kick freely is where he’s most successful and his bbiq truly shows. Looking forward to y’all inhaling his and Gurley’s load later in the season after shitting on them ten games through the noncon schedule.

I know JD is good shoot he's already shown flashes of just how talented he is and as for Gurley it's only a matter of time for him to really get going.

He won't just jack up shots now lol!

JD needs to work on his left hand a bit too. He drives that way to the goal and still uses his right almost exclusively.

Those with KenPom subscriptions, what are his projections for our two games this week?

Do you guys think JD might end up staying 1 more year? He’s dropped a lot on the draft boards, and the draft guru wasn’t speaking very highly of him last game talking about how he played really bad competition in high school
