Miles won this game. Got them started with the 3s, rebounding, and solid D

Definitely was a big part, but Keon single handedly kept us in this game for the first 20 min

I dunno what to think of this team. At all.

Are we just a bad defensive team?

Sometimes, and sometimes we look competent. And offense isn't exactly great all the time either.

I just don't know. Maybe that's who we are. Inconsistent.

Indeed, but it still wasn’t enough. He was hot early and we were losing. Miles stepping up as another option spaced the floor for JQ as well. He was huge in a ugly game.

We don't adapt well to being taken out of our comfort zone. The teams we have looked best against have played a game at our pace on both ends. The teams that we have looked like shite against have gotten us off that pace. We may not score 40 against Baylor.

I don't disagree with the fact that JSU should not be taking Shack out of the game.

I'm just saying that our 3 point productivity this year depends on Shack. We just don't have the shooters there this year. (Elis being the rare exception tonight)

He iced the game against Gonzaga, and Houston.

Does he see the Nba imo? Absolutely not.

Moving forward, this will be the standard recipe against Bama. Not because he's an Nba talent. Because our offense works best with spurts of 3s, and sadly, there aren't many other options.

Ellis with his career night, couldn't put Jax away.

Other problems tend to show themselves when you can't outshoot teams, which a lot of times, has been our MO.

Yep, good point.

We're very susceptible to letting teams dictate the pace of the game.

Wife (knows almost nothing about sports): "Did you win?"

Me: "Yeah, we won by six against what might as well have been Troy."

Wife: "Nice! Troy wins sometimes."

I am sort of shocked by the Gurley situation. It was alarming almost immediately, although I spent the first four games telling myself that it couldn’t possibly be this bad.

He doesn’t look injured to me. Maybe he just needs a lot of time to settle in. The alternative isn’t good.

This team just doesn’t have any whoop arse about them. They’re soft.

Yea, I keep hoping Gurley has a sweet spot where he'll flourish, but there are certain things that he clearly just can't do.

It would all look better if he make a few more top of the key 3s.

Good news is our resume is gold at this point. That's sitting in our back pocket as we get ready for conference play.
