Gurley is lacking all types of confidence! When played for Furman shoot he was HUNGRY and he needs to get back to that.

No it won't. It will be a Q1 or at worst Q2 loss. Road loss to a team with a NET of somewhere between 60-80, probably.

maybe so. but its basketball. shite happens. Its a weird sport. One where anyone can beat anyone by almost any score. And Memphis is a top 10 rosterin CBB.

a fricking D3 school can go nuts hitting 3s and beat a good D1 team. I've played against former McDonald's all Americans. I was decent, ftr. Its hard to describe the difference. He would beat my arse 9 out 10 games. But, I was a good enough shooter that I could have went off in one game and drubbed him. Basketball is a weird sport, with subjective refs.

Unless you expect them to play like they did tonight, every night, I don't see how you could say this. They lost to two SEC teams we should have no trouble with.

I really wish Gurley wasn’t awful but 10 games in, he doesn’t look like a high major player. I thought he was the perfect transfer piece for us coming in but man, it’s rough watching him do much of anything.

Because Memphis has done the same thing every year Penny has been there. And they'll do it again this year.

Struggle early, mostly away from home. Figure some things out while beating up on the AAC. Go 12-6 or 13-5 in the league but lose 2x to Houston and Wichita. Go into the conference tourney on the bubble. Barely miss the NCAAT.

I think the basketball team has the same problem as the football team. They play to their perceived strength of their opponent. They don't take teams seriously.

He doesn't look that athletic because he is somewhat uncoordinated. He takes extra steps and weird angles. It really slows him down.

He doesn't look athletic enough and he doesn't seem to have skills that overcompensate for it.

Just looks like we whiffed on the eval. Oh well.

We haven’t had a lot of luck on transfers other than Q, some due to injuries. Beetle, Bruner, Gurley, Burnett (hopefully will be good next year).

Bad night for the guards one. That team has athletes everywhere, better than ours. Shack has to stop trying to force things and let the game come to him, when he drives among the trees you just know its going to be a turnover.

But we are not rebounding against these teams. Period. It is killing us. If Gurley can't do any better than he is play someone else, they can't do much worse. Bediako is contributing offensively but hes got to rebound.

I think we have to look at how we play defense. When we help we are getting killed. Help defense got us beat tonight.

It was really bad. We defended them the way you defend a team of shooters, when they almost required being able to penetrate to get good looks. We just handed those penetrations to them on a silver platter. It's the only way they can get into offense and score, and we basically supercharged all of their offensive possessions with the way we guarded and overran stuff.

I'd imagine sagging and going under screens and making them take 20 footers consistently would have been much more successful, but what the hell do I know.
