The play designs were great but I’m surprised we didn’t get called for a moving screen on either of those 3s. That’s probably why Gurley got called for one at the end of the game. I’m sure Sampson had been harping on it.

Jeebus, Gurley is a terrible screener
On the 1st one (Shack gets the and 1), he probably could have been called for sticking his elbow out on the 2nd screen, and then only wasn't called on the 3rd screen because he basically whiffed

No. 6/8 Alabama Ready to Take on Memphis Tuesday Night in First True Road Contest this Year
The Crimson Tide and Tigers will tipoff at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN
No. 6/8 Alabama will put its four-game winning streak on the line when it travels to Memphis, Tenn., to take on the Memphis Tigers Tuesday night at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN. Despite playing then-No. 3 Gonzaga in Seattle in what was termed a "semi-away" contest, the game against the Tigers will mark the Crimson Tide's first true road game of the 2021-22 campaign
Alabama is coming off back-to-back games over top-15 programs when it defeated then-No. 3/3 Gonzaga (91-82) on Dec. 4 followed by a narrow win over then-No. 14/13 Houston (83-82) on Dec. 11 in Tuscaloosa. It is the first time since February of 2000 that the Tide has achieved the feat (defeated then-No. 11 Auburn, 68-64, on Feb. 22, followed by an 80-75 win over then-No. 7 Tennessee on Feb. 26 in 2000).
At 8-1 on the year, Alabama is off to its best start to a season since beginning the 2006-07 campaign with a 13-1 record.

Imma just take our rankings real fast and do some quick math... 8-6=2
#2 Alabama has a nice ring to it.
Jokes aside,Ive been looking forward to this match-up even with Memphis looking rough to start the year. They are a tough team to play away no matter the year or record.

The CBS NCAAM podcast said if it wasn't for the Iona loss we'd be 2 possibly 1

That is going to be a tough game. It definitely feels like a circle the wagons game for Memphis. We better be locked in or they'll drag us into a rock fight.

Yeah I'm hoping that Izzo decides to pull a Boeheim and holds Sparty hostage as the program declines when he's in his 70s. I don't really see anyone on their staff who fits the bill of heir apparent, so it's pretty likely that they'll make an outside hire.

anyway to tell what coach in the coaches poll ranked us first?

The LSU hate towards Oats is hysterical on this website. My god if we sweep their arse again
it’d be glorious

I like to think of it as the same way we hate Wade or Pearl, it would be boring as hell if we all liked the coaches of other schools.
Posted on 12/13/21 at 2:12 pm to Tider95
My hate for Wade is much stronger than that of Pearl. I don't really mind Pearl all that much.

Ladies win the matinee and pick up the 800th win in program history in the process

Yea I don't hate Pearl at all
Posted on 12/13/21 at 2:26 pm to SummerOfGeorge
For me Pearl is scummy enough that he's hard to like, and not so scummy that he's easy to hate. But then he's just kind of a cartoonish jackass in an endearing sort of way. I wouldn't say I like him, but I certainly respect his ability to build a program and coach a basketball team.
Wade however is just a straight up sleazeball I have zero respect for.

Fair,
I think I have much more of a distaste for Pearl's style of "I'm just a ball coach" while cheating.
Wade is a goddam sleazeball, but there is an honesty to his sleaziness that while I despise I at least get.

While we are apparently in the mood to praise Auburn, did anyone see the ally-oops in their game against Nebraska? I don’t root for AU in anything but I have to tip my cap when there are 2-3 “plays of the season” in 1 game. The Iron Bowls of basketball this year could be epic.
Posted on 12/13/21 at 2:45 pm to BamaBravesPackers
Yea I've seen Auburn play twice and I'm not sure I've seen a team play better than they have and they lost one of them. They look good. They should probably be ranked a bit higher.
Jan 10th/11th could be two huge days!

Houston's rebounding is a major reason for their success, but it also can cause them to struggle with transition defense. We had 18 fast break points in the game.
You can't crash the offensive boards, AND be back to stop a good fast break. That's why I said that if we had been able to neutralize the rebounds deficit a little, we'd have run them off the court!
