Houston's J'Wan Roberts is 1 of 6 players who rank in the top 30 of offensive AND defensive rebounding % in the country.

The Cougars are known for their rebounding, and Roberts is one of the best in the country.

Auburn’s exercise in secrecy ends today. We will find out what the men’s basketball program and Bruce Pearl were charged with by the NCAA — and what the penalties are — at noon.

I think Pat Forde is aroused.

Any guesses as to what the punishment will be?

Doubt it would be much, we can argue about how significant the "self punishments" are but they actually did try to soften this blow big time.

If they get anything serious, good luck to LSU

No Arkansas from Goodman? “It’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for ‘em.”

Arkansas twitter already went hard on him last week for dropping us big time. I don't really mind it, haven't really played anyone yet except two decent teams. Have been dropping in the metrics too because our margin of victory hasn't been great. Oklahoma tomorrow will tell us more about this team.

it looks like only 2 teams have 4 quad 1/2 wins. Mich St and Alabama.

I always knew that I liked Derricks with a "rrick" rather than "rek".

Right. So how does L$U, with 6 of their 8 wins quad 3 and 4, get ranked 2nd by a computer? NCAA's computer, right? The numbers just don't make sense all over this ranking. Our #1 strength of schedule doesn't see to count.

We haven’t played a good portion of the better teams yet though. We still have Houston, Memphis, Baylor, CSU, and the entire SEC.

Auburn got a slap on the wrist but they really didn’t deserve any additional punishment. They self imposed more restrictions than anyone it seemed, although last season’s tournament ban was a joke.

It was Genius once Bruce knew last years team wasn’t gonna be good to self impose a postseason ban when they weren’t gonna make the tournament anyways

With such a minor penalty and the NCAA decision behind him, now the question becomes whether Maryland makes a run at Bruce Pearl.

Just not sure Maryland could/would pay what it takes to lure Pearl, but he’s a northeast guy and Maryland is a better basketball job.

Buyout for Pearl after this season is $4 million, which is more manageable than a lot of the other big swing candidates that have been tossed around for Maryland.

Pearl already makes $4 million a year at Auburn. Turgeon was at $3.3m this year. But Maryland is a MUCH better job.

Is Maryland really that good of a job? I keep seeing people talk it up like it's some incredible opportunity but aside from a nice 10 year run from from the early 90s to early 00s under Gary Williams they're a historic also-ran.

The NCAA also fined Auburn $5,000 plus 3% of its men's basketball program budget, added the loss of two scholarships during the probation (the Tigers had already self-imposed a loss of one) and imposed other recruiting restrictions.

Based off what we saw, I think LSU gets hit with a postseason ban and Wade is gone for 5-10 games.

unless Wade proved to them that he was personally innocent,
I think he is toast.
